  1. Past hour
  2. @wishcast_hater it was all about the elevation here on the east side too. I went over to Brookfield CT and as I dropped below about 500 it was just white rain. I don't like the trajectory for the Friday night event. Talk about 20 miles making a big difference.
  3. Right where I want it. Looks like I should be safe from missing something from being down in this godforsaken state.
  4. I’ve been tentative about getting invested in this Friday thing. I don’t remember seeing a set-up quite like this one. Pros IMO, temps don’t appear to be an issue. I’m an ice guy (prefer snow of course) but it beats rain or mostly cloudy. So whatever falls will be frozen. Tracking something is great. Cons. Sharp cutoff of precip just across the MD line. Being in the south of this forum, I’ve been burned by the north trend once already this year. Some small trends northeast in modeling over the last 24 hours with probably more to come. Might get the rug pull. In any event, I’m hoping we all get the goods! (outside of Voyager I guess). Thanks everyone for contributing to this forum. Part of the fun for me is hitting refresh here so please keep it up!
  5. It beefed up amounts around the city and north jersey otherwise pretty similar
  6. Upstate? Could be. We give you some leeway
  7. Quick glance at ICON and RGEM - didn't look like any major changes run to run. That should be comforting at this stage I think. The RGEM being north suggests the models taking it far south are not likely on the right track. The warm 700mb temps on the RGEM are a potential concern for sleet.
  8. I wouldn’t put much stock in it. Their algorithms get all wonky in situations like this. The wording will probably change ten times between now and Friday. All I know is this, give me .5-1” of qpf thrown into a freezing cold airmass and let the chips fall where they may.
  9. Don’t forget NOVA no issue. We continue to fail at an excellent rate. Merry Christmas though
  10. Spinclockwise at warp speed to strenghten the HP and get a better CAD signature. On a serious note, this kind of uncertainty is not unusual at this range and the emotional roller coaster is part of it.
  11. i've got poodles...and they love snow. it sticks to their curls like velcro and forms snowballs all over them....it's kinda funny actually.
  12. Icon looked decent for most of SNE...hopefully it has a clue
  13. This will be a non issue for baltimore proper.
  14. so it could be north, or it could be south, or it could be central....what if i go outside and swing a cat over my head 9 times, will that help?
  15. Might be similar to what we just saw with regards to yesterday's system, just more overall.
  16. i got neighbors like that; call animal control because the dog is outside too long; yet they throw food around for the birds and that makes the dogs bark. i'm about to call on them but i'm not sure which idiot is making the calls.
  17. I think this is a tad colder than its previous run, but nothing noteworthy.
  18. ICON coming in relatively unchanged. Still favors NY and points N and W.
  19. I think the issue is....while there is plenty of cold air nearby, there is also plenty of warm air nearby. So, at some point the pattern will shuffle and odds are the warm air is coming this way. Doesn't mean it won't snow because of the time of year, but we all know how the past few years have gone....
