  1. Past hour
  2. Though too early for any real certainty, somewhere between a weak Niña to weak Niño are the table at this point, with a La Nada of some sort favored imho. SOI has been dropping lately, fwiw, per attached. When you look at everything, there really are mixed signals on how winter goes in the east imho. But, admittedly, that ain't saying much other than equivoval, meteorological drivel. But I tried my best to sound good lol.
  3. Not sure I’d call it a beach day but it’s nice out.
  4. GFS is hideous with 6 straight days of clouds and showers after tomorrow. Then a deep trough digs in... Hello May 2005
  5. I believe with clear air mode the radar is more likely to pick up stuff like dust or even pollen
  6. Perhaps have the Tolland high school band play the jingle???...
  7. I looked when you posted that and there was nothing on the Albany radar. There were similar things on some of the other radars around the country so it might just be a mode they are in?
  8. This months argument about installs and dews is brought to you by Lennox. When it comes time to install, Lennox can meet your cooling and heating needs. Whatever your needs, remember Lennox. cue a jingle.
  9. Great Beach day with 76 at the Narragansett town Beach. Lots of people in the water. https://www.wpri.com/live-cams/narragansett-beach/
  10. Today
  11. We got some P-sized hail for about 5 min then the non severe winds kicked in.Glad we didn't get 2" variety,i already had to replace two windshields from the winter storms. My wife tried to run the wind shield wiper in which was stuck in her car,it ended up cracking the window all the way across where the both wipers were, daughter poured hot water on the winshield, that didnt work out very well..lol Soon as the ULL gets kicked out around mid week next week it looks fairly unstable for a few days anyways right now..Nashville is already saying it's favorite words.Stay Tuned!!
  12. Today is the absolute perfect day, could not have scripted it any better for Mother's Day.

  14. 2005: EWR: 37 LGA: 30 NYC: 23 JFK: 17
  15. 12z HRRR isn't bad and the globals depict areas to the east and NE getting some decent scraps beyond hour 60. All remains to be seen.

  19. Thanks. Sounds like a good and reasonable summary, snowman. The only things I’d like to add are: -Sunspot #s for this winter will likely be lower than the prior winter’s even though still elevated -Per RONI there could easily be another moderate peaking La Nina
  20. I'm on vacation, so I'm posting obs from where I am. I'll be back home Tuesday night. Has it rained since I've been on Thursday?
  21. Big difference between LGA (30) and EWR (49) too. Was this similar to 2005, Tony?
  22. Records: Highs: EWR: 93 (1993) NYC: 92 (1993) LGA: 96 (1953) JFK: 85 (1993) Lows: EWR: 36 (1966) NYC: 36 (1966) LGA: 42 (1945) JFK: 40 (1966) Tony, this must have been the day the historic summers of 1953 and 1993 got started! On the flip side it's funny to see such cold this late in 1966 when that became our hottest summer on record until 1993 and 2010 came along!
  23. You're forgetting JFK too. The increase is really for inland areas.
  24. all stadiums should have removable domes at this point, with all the money the Yankees have I can't imagine why they'd skimp on a 150 million dollar add-on.
