  1. Past hour
  2. What's funny is there very little whining, and of anyone its (ironically) the APATT crew that ends up crashing out and crying
  3. One of my favorite storms. Underrated. .
  4. Definitely norther on the ens mean. I was intrigued by this window.. a little sneaky, but kind of lost interest. But maybe...
  5. Yes thats right, but it doesn’t mean phase 6 automatically means warm in the east. Usually when amplitude is strong, which isn’t the case now. Weak/cod 6 during -enso/-aam usually means cold in the east, but not always.
  6. It never got above freezing today at the house. Currently 21 and calm.
  7. Best of luck with that. I had my 6 month today, squeezing it in before EOY.
  8. Everything keeps ticking slowly north and west, hopefully it keeps coming this way like the last storm kept creeping north on us 24 hours out and we ended up getting 0.9" of rain instead of mostly snow and frozen precip.
  9. I have much experience backpacking in Dolly Sods over Christmas as it was an annual thing for my wife and I for quite a few years. You will likely have the entire place to yourself this time of year. You have to park at the Laneville parking lot unless you have a 4wd vehicle with snow chains (assuming there is snow which there likely is!). The state does not maintain the primary road that leads up to the sods themselves during winter so it won't be plowed. But Laneville is easily accessible. The issue there is that Laneville is at the lower end of the Red River so you have to hike all the way up the red river falls trail to get onto the sods proper. With a foot of snow on the ground this is likely more than you can do easily in one day with the short daylight we have now. However red river falls trail is very scenic with some river crossings (probably iced over now) and has tons of gorgeous rhododendron as you gain in elevation. We would generally start from Laneville and snowshoe backpack up to the top of red river falls trail and then camp wherever we could find a flat spot for the tent before dark (gets dark early in the mountains). Then the second day we would snowshoe up on the sods and camp up there the second and third nights. Then come back down the fourth day. It's really epic winter camping but not to be taken lightly when there's significant snow - expect it to be very cold and very windy.
  10. Looks like Hancock, Frostburg, and Bittinger mesonet sites all reporting a bit of snow on the ground.
  11. I was actually referring to KDX Ken‘s post about the warm EPS
  12. WSW for deep creek. Driving up tomorrow morning and should get in around 12. Going to stock up on steaks and booze snd enjoy it from the hot tub. Looking like blizzard conditions right around the time the ball drops! .
  13. I don't think the rest of winter is doomed or anything....all I meant is it's hard to essentially punt the first half in a cool ENSO year and end up hitting normal totals or above. I will also say that this seasons does have the profile to buck that trend.
  14. NFL loves to F with us. You know theres gonna be some home cookin. Anyone breathes on Rogers and its gonna be 15. Stealers OL will be holding all game. They wanted eyeballs for week 18 and got it. Stealers will get more attention in the playoffs even though they will be 1 and done. Honestly we will be 1 and done too. Harbaugh and crew can't go a couple games without sticking theer head up their rear.
  15. To me, today was perfect. High right at 40 with sun. Maybe I’m sick in the head, but 40 with sun is like a crispy warm to me. Love it
  16. Yeah been pixie dust for over an hour, we take
