Cfs2 pretty consistent (2+ weeks) with around normal temps to below in the east for the rest of the summer, with at or above rainfall. Basically, a continuation of what we've been seeing. Yeah, that’s what the Euro is hinting at around 10+ days out. Once these heat domes begin to flex the MCS train gets going over the Upper Midwest and race eastward. Honestly, AI is probably the future for forecasting. AI in its current form is just an advanced pattern recognition program. It is already able to flag cancer years before it would ever be caught by doctors, so being able to accurately predict storms ahead of time seems like a good fit. And this in conjunction with actual human meteorologists will simply improve the accuracy that much more.

We also need a respectable 500 mb pattern. Looks like the "best" climo is one that features a ridge flexing NW -> SE from Kentucky to Bermuda. Kinda of laying the train tracks for us.

While I was waiting to undergo pre-op tests, I watched nurses helping a surgery patient practicing on stairs, almost certainly on the day after his operation. I anticipate going thru the same, as there's 8 steps to enter our place - fortunately has rails on both sides. Hazy sun here, will be cooler than yesterday's 74. Fantastic evening. Warm, slight breeze. A few birds still calling and fireflies starting to come out. First firefly sighting here was June 3 and by the 5th (high was 86 that day) we had lots.

That might be a good pattern to get MCS or derechos to track through from the Midwest. Looks like a ring of fire type pattern.
