Some frost on the roofs…but that was it..38 driving into work.

Well no one can complain about not having a fall this year.

Things to get used to this winter :

Beautiful morning today. Woke up early at 7am to study for my test at 9:30 and I'm glad I was able to catch the sunrise over Charlottesville. Had enough low level moisture to get some pretty scattering of the light and the fall colors are probably near their peak. Turned in my climatology literature review of Mid-Atlantic snowstorms relation to the PNA and NAO (which I'll post eventually in here) last night and can't wait to get this test done. I think I'll wake up and try to get some pictures of sunrise tomorrow. I won't miss the 7am darkness once daylight saving time starts in a couple days but I will miss seeing the sun rise.

Same. I think there's potential for some really exciting weather. Not just possibly big snow events. Big wind events, big rain events, crazy temperature swings. All fun stuff.

I feel better about getting snow if the models are showing rain 5 days out.

Looks like the San Diego weather continues well into next week.

CWG’s forecast is what you get if you assume a 2/3rds chance of a near shutout and 1/3 rd chance of a HECS. But that’s not possible in the real world so they end up with a number that I don’t think is particularly likely on its own.

I feel optimistic about this winter.

Yuck. Glad I'm headed out of the tropics for the winter. I've seen more snow in one hour where I'm headed then what's forecast for my area the entire winter lol
