Central PA Summer 2026 Discussion/Obs Thread
Voyager replied to Voyager's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
Storms fired to the north, but everything is going southeast. Best we'll get is a glancing blow. Looks like Carbon County is getting/gonna get slammed again. -
Heavy rain in castleton corners section with thunder gusty winds, nothing at station on West shore yet. High temp of 97° now down to 80°. Quick 0.40".
-
Kind of funny that the record warm low for July 14 is warmer at Marquette (76) than it is for Detroit (74)
-
It certainly is beautiful there. But yeah, hard to not cheer for Messi.

Big time lightning with that cell in NW Northampton Cty right now. 484 lightning strikes in the past hour on my Tempest from storms in my area. -
The severe warned cell south of Scranton is presently putting out a very impressive display of CTG lightning just to my north.
-
Hit 97 today, underperformed the forecast high of 100-101. But dews were higher
-

-

Am I wrong in thinking that dew points this high used to be extraordinary for this area not that long ago? I remember thinking low 70's was high, but now dews around 80F are just a common occurrence. Yuck. Currently: -
I'm so happy Argentina won. What a great Country. Let's go Messi. Argentina let's take it all.
-
Storms look to be firing along the leading edge of the heavy smoke plume. Which is kind of wild to watch.
-
I was rooting for them too. Damn that match changed quick. Stunner. Messi is an all time great. The final will be fun to watch. No real rooting interest.
-
Peaked at 96 (95.6) here in Lindenhurst, down to 89 now. Severe storm looks to miss me to the west or just a glancing blow
-
Just had insane downpours in the Parisappny area for like 15 minutes.
-
This might be a first. A smoky strong t storm. Rain and gusty winds blasting the smoke smell into you. Does the rain help wash it away or just bring more down to the surface?
-
We'll have to see if the activity in Warren County hits our area in a little while. Today wasn't supposed to be a big t-storm day, but quite a bit of activity.
-
Pretty potent looking storms moving over the city and nj
