  1. Past hour
  2. 96 at home. 101 a mile farther inland. Beach sitting at a comfy 81. Can't wait to get outta work.
  3. I don't argue this ... but, just the same I'd like to have seen today's set up operating on by diurnal heating ... without the overnight processing event, which stayed safely N of NYC's current heat parade. I agree with that aspect you mentioned an hour ago that we may see a burst of sorts if we suddenly mix out a vaguely coherent lowest layer. Like yesterday ...
  4. ACY airport (Egg Harbor Twp). The city itself is in the low 80s.
  5. And that wasn't even "real turf", it was "astroturf"!
  6. Not surprising that PHL to NYC are going gangbusters on heat. You're on the northern periphery of a strengthening mid level ridge in early July. Max heat advection.
  7. Especially amazing when you consider some of the warm Marches of that era (e.g., 2012).
  8. Atlantic City has recently reached 100°. That ties its daily record from 1966.
  9. I feel like we don’t realize that (+17C from 850 to 2m) as much in July without a strong compressional wind flow…like the classic 29015G25 deal. Otherwise transpiration usually does us in. 7/22/2011 soundings (23/00z) were 23C at ALB and 26C at CHH with weak CAA. So we were pulling those 100-103s with probably 24-25C 850s and strong west flow behind the prefrontal trough.
  10. I'm old enough for Ch17 during the 1970s then Prism 1980s. They would show the vet turf showing the heat coming off of it and place a big ass thermometer out there which reached 110-120F on the outfield turf. Just hit 100 F here...
  11. SW NJ in interesting with the high dews.
  12. The Edgewood mesonet site, located in Harford County, just came in at 95/81, producing a heat index of 117°. The 117° reading is a new network wide record for the mesonet.
  13. Yep, triple digits is a sure bet for almost all of the region. Today is going to rival 7/15/1995 and 7/22/2011.
  14. https://x.com/burgwx/status/2072714292655194125?s=46 cool stat above temp of 96 before noon in KNYC
  15. Yep, CPK is going to hit 100 today, as is almost the rest of the region. This is going to rival 7/22/2011.
  16. 96° with a feels like temp of 107° at mi casa during the lunch hour.
  17. Yeah, we don't know how well placed they are. That's why I like the Rutgers network. They are all sited well.
  18. DCA hit 99° on the intra hour just now. So close!
  19. 94/72 in Lynchburg, VA. The airport tends to run low, still at 91. I'm curious if we will have our first 100 degree day since 2012. Point and click had 100, 101, and 102, but we don't do extreme heat well due to our elevation and lack of a real UHI leading to cooler nighttime temperatures (70 this morning).
  20. 97/73 at my PWS on the north shore. 92/81 on my Kestrel here on the south shore near ISP. Feels like a poorly ventilated bathroom but with full sunshine.
  21. Stuck at 97. All 3 stations on my street 97.
