  1. Past hour
  2. Same here. Cloudy, which I like, but that wind can GTFOH.
  3. I haven't had a double digit snow since 2016- but came close the last 5 winters- several 6-9" storms. I'll just go with 10" even if it was more. I'm not one to inflate numbers.
  4. Schools are closed around here tomorrow again. I couldn't imagine them being open anyway after the conditions earlier today tbh.
  5. We were closed for a week here in Feb 2013. 30 inches
  6. Finally stopped around 2:30. It didn’t add much to the total it was melting on contact on the blacktop.
  7. I think he gets a bad rap. He was optimistic when there was reason to be, and was just matter-of-fact when it wasn't great news. When this thing was largely written off, the comeback started with him posting some 'hey check out this model, seems to be hinting at something' type of posts. Like Zooey Deschanel singing Santa Claus is coming to town all by herself in Central Park before everyone else joined in, he held strong until Santa's sleigh could fly again. Well done.
  8. They were closed in for a week in NJ too. I was a senior in high school. Remember it very well.
  9. Being a lifelong RI resident, I believe the 30'+ reports down here, and this easily the biggest storm I've ever experienced living on the coast over the last 20 years, as opposed to northern RI where I grew up. This was bigger in every way than 2013 but that was a worse experience locally for us because it pasted all over, took down our flagpole, then a 5 day power outtage on top. This dropped more snow but was colder -- and we havent lost power yet. State as a whole also had a lot more outtages in 2013 despite getting a load more snow here. Either way an all-timer I never thought I'd ever see here along the water, much less enjoy.
  10. Check out the snowfall reports from Mt Holly- https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=phi&issuedby=PHI&product=PNS I have a hard time believing 14 fell here but that's not some random person making that report. Delaware got hammered.
  11. The snow is powdery but clumps together like wet snow. It’s epic here. I estimate 30 in. still some light snow. Temp up to 28.2 from 26.4 a couple hours earlier.
  12. Snow will pick up along the border counties and I wouldn't be surprised so see snow into tomorrow morning right along the border.
  13. I have completely bare spots then 40” spots. Crazy! also. How to make shoveling heart attack snow not heart attack criteria - shovel small layers at a time. Takes longer. Didn’t break a sweat
  14. BOS should be over 60 to date when this one is over given the roughly 56 ish at 1pm.
  15. It will be interesting to see a final plot of totals. I feel like the “floor” in most cases from Jersey north will still be pretty high
  16. I’ll no longer get excited for a 3-5 day storm unless the GFS is showing 60+ inches.
  17. Sometimes after a good coastal storm, we get an unexpected pull of colder air, not seen by the models that picked up the coastal storm. Go figure...
  18. Plan is in spring I believe. I’ll have to double check, but I know it’ll be around prior to tropical season, so this is the last winter for V4.3. Next winter will be V5.0 or V5.1, so I’m looking forward to that on the desk. Definitely performing better than the current NBM operational. We see it in a lot of the verification.
  19. Not sure about the 14" here, but a friend a mile west said it was a foot. I have nothing to go by except my security cam- obviously a lot of melting today. But damn central/southern Delaware got crushed
  20. Oh wow a week?! That’s nuts. My memory goes back to the 90s so I didn’t know that!
  21. Some pretty heavy snow here from that one. Should add at least an inch or 2.
  22. No rest as we look forward to the next in a parade of snowers. Guidance generally supports a 1-3/ 2/-4” type event centered on Wed morning into early afternoon
