  1. Past hour
  2. Record high of 91 at MSP. This is the latest occurrence in the year of a 90+ temperature on record for Minneapolis. Presumably we will also set a record high min of 72 today as well.
  3. Big time +EPO this October.. models are showing it for the 2nd half of the month. EPO carries very well from October to January-February
  4. Big time +EPO this October.. models are showing it for the 2nd half of the month. EPO carries the same sign very well from October to January-February
  5. Like most divorces, it may be messy and painful but it is needed. Time to pull the bandaid off. I take no glee in saying that. It just feels inevitable at this point.
  6. Wouldn't mind seeing an h5 pattern like this in January. Spilt flow look with favorable NA and thermal boundary pressed just to the south..
  7. Expect some chilly weather with the NAO and AO going negative
  8. Expect some chilly weather with the NAO and AO going negative
  9. Terrible color ramp, but the trend is clear. Winter is rapidly disappearing.
  10. Today
  11. The last six weeks has been amazing stretch of nice weather. Wondering when this pattern changes. Can’t complain when the +10 is 77.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Can ANY football team in Maryland hold a damn double digit lead? I'm looking at you too Towson AND Morgan. (Not today though)
  14. Hibiscus syriacus, aka rose-of-sharon
  15. I drove Asharoken Ave once many years ago in winter and the wind was so ferocious that it had caked all the short trees and bushes in ice coming from the ocean spray right next to the road where it gets really thin. I wish I took a picture it looked really cool.
  16. Bacon Ridge in Crownsville at 190' elevation has done better than Parrs Ridge at almost 900' elevation for the past 5 seasons. Pretty wild. I've experienced blowing snow and snow deep enough for snowshoes on Bacon Ridge the past two seasons.

It seems that there is often a tendency for a reload of near 80 readings about five days after any given 2-4 day spell.
