Looks like @Blizzard of 93 is getting a very strong storm. -
Maybe a downburst signature right around North Potomac or a hair NE of there? Probably sub-severe at least at this second but seems to be intensifying

Best show of the year in Gaithersburg. We had 4 hits that were on top of us and it is still going. Two may have hit my property it was so bright and close. Also saw green lightning. My 4yo even asked why it was so green.

That's them. They are very small and intensely itch but it doesnt last long and doesnt leave a welt on most people. Different experience for those who have sensitive skin/ skin disorders.
-
Maybe trying to cycle back up a bit - doubt it will get back to as intense as it was - but more lightning near Gaithersburg on the last update.

Exactly, for a Nina Dec usually rocks, but this year with the Nino expecting warmer than normal temps. I like mid Jan to mid Feb as well. Have to see what the signs are as we enter late Fall regarding the potential for HL blocking over NA.,and what the source regions look like as well.

Dude is trolling Canada after the tariffs. Most important position in the world and we have an unserious child troll running it. But yay liberal tears! So good! -
It's passive aggressive behavior for real. I personally like more language diversity in geography.

Do these leave bite bumps? Something keeps eating my ass up outside, but it doesn't leave the telltale bumps. It stings a bit and itches for a bit.

Only 4 days this month with a high of 90 or above, and just 2 days with a low of 70 or above. For July, those numbers are 6 days 90 or above and 6 days 70 or above. The rest of this month should close out without adding to either of those figures. I know other places were obviously warmer but those are pretty low numbers and far from some of the summers in the last 10-15 years.

Normal? That ship sailed back in 2016… I’ll settle for some semblance of sanity at this point. -
I don't think so. The mosquitos that are around now are the invasive Asian Tigers. They only bite during the day and can continue to breed in the tiniest amount of standing water. If it stays warm those bastards will be around into October.

Miserable humidity is back. 81/72 at IAD. The past few days with pleasant dewpoints I wasn't bitten by a single mosquito, now with the nastiness back I'm just getting eaten up by them. Does humidity really make a difference in skeeter activity?

I said it a while ago, but in a stronger Nino, December is usually not a month to look for snow. Tends to be warmer than normal. Can still happen, but it's not the right time for it. Jan-Early March are your best bets, especially mid-Jan thru mid-Feb.

What they gonna drive past my house and give me the Scorpion treatment? Lolol (iykyk) Now ordinarily road tripping ain't my style, but...given this historic snow drought I may be more open to a random chase than I would have been otherwise, haha
