Lived in station north for the last two. They never did a good job announcing these things outside the cycling community so every time I woke up boxed in. Last one they towed my car a few blocks away off of St. Paul. Not the worst thing that went on in that neighborhood but still

July 2025 Discussion-OBS - seasonable summer variability
Wxoutlooksblog replied to wdrag's topic in New York City Metro
Way over performed my expectations. Certain locations will over perform today & Sunday if there is enough sun but Mon & Tues should get back to 90. WX/PT -
Coaching. I am becoming more and more convinced that this is on the coaching and the organizational philosophy of hitting. They need to clean house in that area with the exception of Britton, Chirinos, and Mabry. We need a complete reset--I refuse to believe this is on the players suddenly not being good. May 2022 to mid-2024 wasn't some fluke, imo

What is this take? Lol C'mon man...they're not trading Adley or any of our other young players! This trade deadline is more about expiring contracts--Elias said that the other day, actually.

Just got home, picked up about 0.25 at some point this late afternoon/evening....

July 2025 Obs/Disco ... possible historic month for heat
HIPPYVALLEY replied to Typhoon Tip's topic in New England
Air is drying out now but warm nights with dank humidity create a very wonderful quietude outside the domicile. You can hear the subtle sounds of the local fauna. My favorite part of high heat summers is the night time, because that is the right time, to be outside with the dew point tide. -

Noticed today some lawns in the neighborhood are starting to brown. If we don’t cash in soon, drought guy watches may need to be hoisted. -

I did not create the graph, only reposted it. Certainly seems legit though, with the notorious dustbowl years reigning supreme. Humidity and mins are whats been increasing here in summer, not days in the 90s. I can vouch that in Detroit, the decade with the most 90s was the 1930s. -

It does seem like Atlantic SSTAs are not that different from the overall global warming trend. The cold in the 1970s and 1980s was notable and anomalous, but we might not get anything like that in the future, it may also just be a longer trend than we realize, thinking that there won't be cold Atlantic SSTs for the next 20 years or so. I was actually swimming in the south Carribean this Summer, the water was colder than I expected. There is definitely room for more warming -

Is that for real? I know that from what I've experienced, there is not much difference from the Summers now and when I was a kid, actually it seemed a little hotter when I was a kid with more black-sky thunderstorms. I know there was a wave of "warmer Summer min's" in the early 2000s, but it doesn't seem to be an over-inflated trend, the temperature progression of Summers. On the west coast it is a different story, it's much warmer and drier. It may be more of a pattern: the drought in the SW, US started in 1995. Phoenix had broken records every Summer 2022-2024 I think until this Summer. -

So sad to logon and see this banner post at the top of the page. @jburns was such a good moderator, but an even better story teller. He had a quick wit, and I truly enjoyed his posts. He loved that Archdale snowstorm from back in the day. That grill photo was iconic. He was also quite proud of his weed yard, letting us all know it stayed green year round without any special attention, while the rest of us anguished over our turf diseases we were fighting. He also loved to talk of the snowstorms from the Floyd, VA, days. Those were epic winters, and some crazy times. I will miss him greatly on this forum. From all I experienced, you had a truly great dad, @RaleighNC. This place will not be the same without him.

I mean, I did read the whole post. While listening to Shannon Gunz Ozzy Tribute. I feel dirty, in a weather sort of way. -

If Adley returns by the trade deadline, he’ll be dealt. And then he’ll have a great year next year.

Thanks Don! I do not even know who Tony Heller is. I simply posted 1 graph that i saw and thought was interesting. Im more interested in local climate data from individual sites, but there has been so much discussion of conus wide averages lately that when i saw this pop up i thought it fitting. I see some posters post dozens and dozens of posts/graphs/tweets etc. I have enjoyed posting with you and others on these weather boards for over 20 years now. I discuss all kinds of weather, post photos, and discuss lots of past/present climate data from all seasons. Tcc? Textbook definition of troll. For him to call me a troll is as ironic as you can get. Popped up a few years ago. Has no interest in weather or any climate data besides present day warm records. He spams every subforum with unwanted posts (then replies to himself with more) that annoy warm and cold lovers alike. I dont even need to go into the many examples i could use. His posting reputation speaks for itself. -
Just shy of 6.5" for the month here now. Really wasn't expecting much of anything tonight given the forecast and the meso models. Sunday always looked like the better bet here. That would be bonus now.
