Fun storm. I suck at pics. Massive downdraft just S of the hail core. I had to stop due to the wind. It was a Close Encounters Stop Sign Shaker for sure lol. Registered 68 at home as it passed. Had a nice shelf cloud as I assumed from radar you can see in the first pic which was just after it was Tor warned. This thing had a wall of dust 2k ft in the air in front of it (love Spring gust fronts). You can really see the outside of the "bowl" of dust as part of the core passed just to my N in the second. Its hard to tell but that thing was glowing red from the sun coming through behind that dust. Thats dust in the second, not rain. I was in the desert one minute then horizontal flying mud then sideways rain then sideways hail. That's a crazy ass progression lmao. I got nickel, looks like ping pong about a mile north of me reported.

it was perfect and just what I needed after a 14 hr work day no peepers yet

Occasional Thoughts on Climate Change

The most extreme March heatwave on record in the United States is now concluding. Additional monthly records were set today. Below is a selection of March records that matched or beat April records during the unprecedented heatwave. -
It looks like that finally Phoenix didn’t 100. It was “only” 99 today.

Heard them for the first time on my way home tonight. They are out there.

62/49 quite nice here before the rain, gonna go outside with my beer and listen for the peepers

Sneaky good day today. So many days in the past 2 weeks looked great looking outside through a window and then reality struck walking out the door. Today was the opposite.

His first year at BC was not great. To some time to adjust. I am wondering if they think he needs some time to adjust again.

Pretty wild little event here. Strong winds out of the NE with an approaching storm out of the west, insane watching clouds plow into each other like that. If we had a little more warmth there would have been a serious QLCS tornado event today, NW Ohio was just too impacted by the lake breeze. Props on the hail though, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen ping pong sized hail at the house

It's time to grade Winter 2025-26(now that it's actually over)

C+/B-. I don't like dry and cold, which it was a lot. The 11" storm sticking around for a month was awesome though. The other 4 months were meh. I think it only snowed (flurries or more) 11 times. Edit: the early Dec storm overperformed and I got 7"! Loved that one, there were 20+ flashes of green lightning. -

A Third season in a row with climo snow and an extended period of cold. This winter was really cool. Lots of really memorable experiences related to ice. I also spent 5 days on the Tug Hill getting clobberd by LES. I also chased the coastal blizzard in February. I spent that storm in Harrington Delaware.
