I think the STJ could be north of that season. -

Check out the PDO: it rose 0.23 to -1.03. That’s quite a rise for just one day considering the last daily rise at least that high was way back in Feb! It has risen 0.43 just in the last 3 days: -
Could snag a record high min here locally tomorrow 11/3(60) ! Rising temps tonight should help the cause. Should stay in the low-mid 60s all day
-
Yup…same here.

Record high min in jeopardy tomorrow 11/3 (60). Temps rising tonight should help. Curious to see how many record high mins we can tag this winter! -

Absolutely, but I think there maybe some deviations given the state of the extra tropical Pacific. -

The seasonal models aren't useful at this point. We are pretty much there, and none of them have depicted anything remarkably different since like August.

2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino
Cobalt replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
Because the Gulf Coast is just a small subsection of the Earth, and localized seasonal variability still enables some cold extremes while heavily favoring warm extremes over time. January 2025 was the warmest recorded January on Earth in terms of average temperature, yet in the US it was the 33rd coldest since 1895 (Coldest since 1988), with some gulf coast counties logging a top 10 coldest month. -

Eh, then how have gulf coastal regions managed significant snowfalls during the same period, needing much more anomalous cold than NYC in March? -

I think it came from woodvegas on tnwx but I’m not sure where they got those from though okay so “LC” weather bell cansips Eric Webb Ben noll and tropical tidbits . -
It would be good to credit the poster of the above forecast if you can....that said, it would be shocking to me to see cold all winter like the the CANSIPS has given the warm regime we are in now. I will believe it when I see it.

Watching YouTube and saw one of a tiny combine cutting grass which of course, sent me down the rabbit hill of RC mowers with snow plow attachments. Anyone try the mowrator? Is it junk? It does look like a toy "plowing" snow, tbh. How does it work on your yard? We don't need or want a pro level yard but honestly yard chores are just not my thing. Most of the yard is a slope.
