December 14th - Snow showers or Plowable snow?
DavisStraight replied to Sey-Mour Snow's topic in New England
Maye runs for 2, good red zone strategy today. -
Classic winter snow event just ended with bitter cold to follow, similar to what I remember in the late 50s, 60s, 70s. Nice threading. I haven't been able to keep up with thread initiation, so am done threading and in general commenting. If you want a one way daily 6am ish message, dm me at [email protected] and let me know your location. Accuracy probably not as good as others in the D1-2 range but I know I grasp impacts ahead. I saw the Tomer Burg (polar weather) D1 post, after the event it was MUCH better than anything these I saw but I was also away in PA. I haven't done a very good job this year in nw NJ... partly due to aging slowing down and not able to review everything within constraints of home life. Am done considering what is posted on American Weather and also thread initiations, but I will add a precipitation total every once in a while. I'm at that age 75 where I need to focus much more here at home. Everyone continues on their own track. Best of health is what I think you will value. 12/14/25

Finished with 3.6” here. Pretty consistent with modeling which was pretty decent in the final 36hrs or so…but exceeded my personal expectations of 1-2”. Just used to under performers the past few years. For perspective…this is my 2nd biggest snow going back to the 22-23 season…hence my pessimism. Glad it worked out and we have the cold for it to stick around a couple days. -

About 2” here. -
Expected 2", got 4". Driveway shovel pile shaping has begun.

Very nice read from respected Met Mike Masco about. Models pulling back on the idea of a torch Christmas!!
-
4" here

Really looking forward to the Rams-Lions game. Love watching a well coached team that plays sound football and wins, that being the Rams. Stafford is so good. Incredible at age 37 and with his chronic back issues. Lions are teetering and really need this one.
-
You're my early warning detection lol. I got under that band and had over an inch in about 20 minutes and the temp fell to 7. Days like this make all life's problems kinda melt away (no pun intended). Great pic.

I think I went 19-29" for CPK. -
Indeed
-
I have really lost interest in this team. Just have it on in the background out of habit.
-
Not much melting going on with temps falling into the mid 20s and that low mid Dec sun.

@Bob Chilli should have caveat’d to say so far this winter GFS has done better with NAO vs AO. Obviously both being neg is preferable but I guess I like NAO more cause it jams up the ATL closer to us which for me means HPs can’t slide east so quick. We’ve had AOs be neg but be in locations that don’t help as much. Basically I want anything that gives us snow. AO, NAO, PNA, WPO, DIY, WTF, SOS. Gnat farts in Mongolia work too

Yawn

12/14: Sunday funday? Will the south win again?

I was thinking this would be a great event out there, but this overperformed even my expectations. Solid start to perhaps another snowy season out there! I need to make another trip out. -
I don't see much to be excited about. CAD could keep us from torching but no winter weather threats on the horizon.
-
Stubborn coach, a good GM who royally screwed up, smh
-
RRFS for the win out here!
