For at least second time this summer, our popcorn storms are coming from the Northeast. @Windspeedcalled it. Mowing sucks right now. It is almost impossible to find a time when the grass isn't wet. I am so attuned to La Nina summer endgames, I just about forgot what it looks like not to see everything fried and crisp at this time of year. That "should" prevent extended summer, but probably delay the start of winter. I will say that I have seen some false starts to winter with El Nino...only to hit a "meh" pattern for a good portion of December. Just flip everything from the last winter. I was telling @tnweathernutthat what interests me is whether we can get a base-active STJ(prob base warm-ish temps) to slam into a cold air mass which finds its way southwestward. It will likely be tougher to get those cold air masses into the SE, but if we do...look out. This looks like a very active pattern, and I expect that to continue through the first half of winter w/ obvious ebbs and flows. This is one of those winters where we probably have plenty of precip but less cold. Maybe some big hitters buried in a base meh pattern.

Its tough but hard to justify having both he and basallo moving forward. Might as well move adley before he turns into a few month rental for someone at next year's deadline.

If Elias feels that comfortable shipping Adley to Boston that tells me all I need to know about Elias's future for next year. I'm so disgusted right now with them.

Just had another little downpour here with that line that got me up to 1.47" for the day. It appears that's about it. Perfect amount of rain here -- a very good soaking for the garden, but not enough to cause flooding.

I think it is almost impossible for a homeowner to "properly" site their weather station. you can't have an all-in-one sensor and get the best of all parameters. for example, i didn't want to put mine in the middle of the back yard, simply because it would be a pain to be mowing around it. I could have it under trees, but would undercatch rainfall significantly, but could possibly get the most accurate temp. I don't care if I am off a couple of degrees in temp, as it gives me a general idea, and there are plenty of stations in my immediate vicinity, and i don't give a crap about wind (trees block it anyway). I did however want to get a semi-decent idea of rainfall. so mine is too close to the house, too close to the driveway, and in the middle of a garden. in other words, i am a contributor to the bad climate change data

Nothing like to my south, but a good soaking here. Same story as Kev even with a little less rain. Nothing terribly exciting, but a good drink nonetheless. I guess we had a decent tstm when I was a way a couple of weeks ago.

Got two rounds of rain. first round brought 1.25" rain and second round overnight brough 1.31" for a total of 2.56"

The June monthly OISST data was actually adjusted by 0.51. (1.55 v 1.04).

Thought this even looked good last Thursday or maybe it was Friday. Front is actually moving more quickly than I thought but when you're ripping a 40+ knot LLJ ahead of a slow moving front with sfc dews >70 and 850 dews into the 60's, PWATS > 2" and a totally saturated profile...great way to great prolific rain rates and over a large area.
