  1. Past hour
  2. UK Ensemble continues to show the potential
  3. Mixing in is different from so warm at all levels that it's definitely sleet, the warmth has been marginal all day.
  4. Today's wasn't easy. None of them are easy around here and that's why everything seems so damn complicated...because it is! Lol We keep our fingers crossed and hope complicated works. But that ain't saying the odds are good or bad, especially in light of other current modeling. Even the Euro's 12z run was completely different other than a trough in the SE.
  5. Did you fail to notice that sleet has been mixing in since about 2pm? For the 100th time, the NAM does not explicitly forecast snow. I don't know why this is so hard to understand.
  6. forgot to clear my table off...got side tracked Oh well. Have to head to bed soon but probably do one final measurement. It's gotten pretty breezy here so snow is definitely drifting. I am actually wondering if I cleared, would I even get an accurate accumulation with the way the snow is blowing. Oh well...it is what it is
  7. Still putting down an inch an hour. Sitting at 13.5. don't have a yard stick. There's a 12 inch buried in the snow.
  8. And with an active period coming up in February. Could definitely happen!!
  9. LOL wut?? The NAM was garbage with everything except for mid levels, which is really the only thing it’s useful for in winter storms.
  10. Yes agree. We see too many times people look at the backedge and assume that’s it. New England almost always hangs back
  11. I was gonna go with 7.5” off vibes but I need to see what the spotters around me do. Initial reports made no sense… one 7.0” in Anacosta at 12:30 and a 7.5” in NW… math not mathing. Took a super quick walk and it’s a glacier. My fairly main DC roads are not awesome. Wonder if we really get back to regular commute on Tuesday.
  12. I’m going to call it 8.5” total. Insane precip at 2.33”.
  13. Great storm. May not go down as one of the biggest but most fell during the daylight, most of us stayed all snow, models did a pretty good job on everything, and some areas got 12+. Plus its gonna stick around for awhile and with the deep cold if we get a clipper/snow shower it can freshen up the snow pack.
  14. Yeah, shows a total of 14" more for this area, subtracting 2-3 inches for the last 2 hours, leaves an additional foot from this time forward.
  15. this was a beast. i had to go out to dig the sister in law out; cars stuck all over, unplowed streets, sleeting like the devil out; the big snow blower froze and the tines would not turn; had to break out the old craftsman. my sil has a little electric toro and that little beast tore right through that sleet, which i'm saying had to be a foot or more. any zr on top of this will be a nightmare. it is still sleeting out ffs....never went back to snow.
