It may drip into the 30’s/40’s, but rises to 90’s/100’s. Is that a cold airmass or a hot airmass?

I'd say that is a cold airmass at night, and a hot airmass during the day.

Any other characterization can be considered "fake"

This is incorrect logic in the empirical sense of reality.

to be expected, the air is thin at elevation, negatively affects congition

The airmass is not real . It’s not a cold airmass . A cold airmass stays cold during the day and doesn’t have 40 degree diurnals. Folks need to try to understand that

This is why you are prone to believing fake news ...

Reality is not what you want, or want to accept.  It is, and you can decide whether you want to be realistic, or reside in some deluded state.

The air temperature is 35, and if that is sensibly considered cold to the observer, it is a cold air mass. End of debate.

Whether that air mass then rises to 70 that afternoon or not, doesn't change the fact... if/when that happens, the air mass is then a warm air mass.

That's it.  there is nothing else.

It's not a hot air mass either though.  Why don't we call it fake warmth?

Every air mass a cold one if you go up high enough.

Lmfao…it’s amazing he can’t understand this.  I said this earlier…maybe we can call it fake warmth at Kevin’s house at night…right?  But That would be just as ridiculous.

Whoosh right over the top of ye dome . No one is saying the temp at the ground isn’t really happening. If it says 32, it is 32. But if it rises to 70 that afternoon, that airmass is not real and is not cold . It’s a fake cold

No...   32, is cold.  It is not fake.

I dunno...getting close to needing to call you a choice word, and walking away.  haha my god

We can and we do. This heat this afternoon is born of the same fake cloth. It’s just some folks get panties bunched and tussled over frosts so it’s talked about much more .

I won't lie, I see no one getting tussled over frosts this fall.  Every morning you seem to be the driver of the fake cold narrative, but I again understand, you are growing your vegetables getting up each morning seeing 15 posts about people with ice, 28F, dead vegetation, etc.  In the afternoon, you don't seem to care as much if BDL is 71F and you are 66F, it feels normal even if the heat is fake.

Honestly, we've had some deep freezes, even as low as 20F at home at 1,100ft this past week... but I'm not sure 1,800ft has gotten below 30F once, lol.  The mid-slopes have been staying warmer.  It's just how it is in high pressure patterns.

if it's registering on the thermometer, it is not fake, it is real

Ok. Bottom line, nothing is fake about any temp. Or any weather for that matter.   If you want to call radiational cooling fake, the same radiational cooling that ultimately causes winter time temps, and ultimately CAA,  and sound like you’re in special Ed…then that’s on you.  I think we all explained it well, and made it clear.

BTW…It’s 67 out…great day…but maybe it’s fake:axe:?

I think the point has! Been missed this whole time. . It is fake because it is not a cold airmass. It drops because of low dew points and dry air, just as it warms rapidly . A great example is the desert. It may drip into the 30’s/40’s, but rises to 90’s/100’s. Is that a cold airmass or a hot airmass? No it’s a fake environment in both cases

My cucurbits and tomatoes missed the point as well.  It's possible that the record lowest temperatures in 48 of the 50 states (all but HI and possibly NH) were "fake".
