midatlanticweather
12z GFS back to bringing in some cooler air in the long range! Better than the blowtorch yesterday, but it is really flip-flopping! Euro 12z will shed light, but it keeps it pretty warm/hottish on previous runs. EPS goes cool for a bit around labor day before running back the heatwave we're in by late next week. CMCE keeps things cooler with more backdoor fronts. GEFS is a bit of a mix between the two that keeps us on the south side of any fronts, but has colder air up in PA.

Unbelievable, half of October got punted... Are we really going to get rug pulled instead of the niño kicking in?
jewell2188 Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:23 AM Long range pattern is and has already established itself. It’s clear and evident but he explosive development of storms. And it’s been that way for quite some time. Mild and dry winter here we come!

Paleocene Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Wouldn't mind warm and dry (read: not humid) September and October at this point. Soupy October is the worst

IronTy Posted yesterday at 12:14 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:14 PM JB has invoked 1925 where we had a record warm September followed by a very cold October. He thinks that it will cool down in October significantly. Me...it's gonna be the warm and droughty base state until it isn't. No signs of change yet.

I've asked around since June and first the niño precip change was supposed to be later in the summer, then it was September, then it was October, now it's late October if we're lucky. It just keeps getting can kicked.

It's a month long respite that's about to end. Modeling was showing a wet September before abruptly collapsing last week.
