Low of 68. Not entirely sure what to expect today as there’s quite a difference with the models in terms of timing/location/intensity. Just hoping no one suffers any damage. At least we get the smoke out of here this afternoon.

Tuesday worries me more than today. 
 

That said the other week when a bomb went off in camp hill I didn’t think conditions were favorable for a microburst.

Wunderground shows that I got .61"

The Tempest App says I got .78"

Not sure which one to believe, but either way we got a good opening shot.

It’s pouring rain in Marysville with some thunder.

That cell headed to Lancaster might need some watching. It looks to be tapping into energy which is surprisingly early

We have an extended period of below normal temperatures for late July which looks like it will continue through this entire upcoming week. Our warmest and most humid day will be today, but temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than average. Showers and thunderstorms should develop this afternoon and continue till around midnight. Some areas could see over an inch of needed rainfall. The sun returns both tomorrow and Monday with temperatures in the upper 70's to low 80's. Some valley spots may see lows by Monday morning in the comfortable 50's. Shower chances ramp up again by Tuesday and Wednesday before we clear out toward the end of the work week.

It was a nice little lightning-fueled cell that dropped a quick .15”. A precursor for later? No wind though. Air is clearing up already.

I hope that whatever it takes for severe weather to develop fails. I don't like days like today. And I don't like being in the hatched area for TOR.

Smoke can create a cool pool and a theory is an interacting front or low can exploit that for energy.

Woke up from a la-z-boy siesta, and came outside, and it's thundering like every 15-30 seconds here. It's a low roll kind coming from my west-southwest towards Pottsville. Looks like that cell is moving closer.

Rain so far in my backyard is now up to 1.25".

Also, I can somewhat smell the smoke again, too.

Putting my new Tempest on a good practice run so far today…it has recorded lightning 375 times, but only .01 of rain. Most of the significant rain went well north and slammed Harrisburg area it looks like. I was on the very edge down here. We’ll see what happens later.

Hang in there. For many cycles now the HRRR has been advertising a very quick pullout of the smoke this afternoon. Already getting much better down this way.
