cyclone77
Torrential downpour put out 1/3 inch in less than 3 minutes. Just absolutely puked rain. Didn't get too much wind, zero hail. 0.56" and counting, but mostly over.

luckyweather
4th times the charm here between Roscoe and Rockton. All 4 roads in and out of my hood are closed, trees and power lines littering the roads. No power, no internet, partying like it’s 1899.

Despite being outside of the main action area(s) these past few days, has been nice to grab consistent chance at thunder.

From the current MCD: Eastward expansion of WW 131 will likely be needed in the coming hours across portions of eastern IL. Drier low-level conditions downstream across IN casts some uncertainty on how intense the line will be beyond roughly the 05-06 UTC time frame into IN, but convective trends will be monitored for the need for downstream watch issuance. Reminds me of the story of the 1965 outbreak and Northern Indiana issued a blanket tornado warning for every county because it couldn’t keep up. Completely different set up and reasoning but still gives me a chuckle

Completely different set up and reasoning but still gives me a chuckle IIRC Birmingham or Huntsville also did that during the evening of 4/3/74. James Spann essentially did that for 4/27/11 when he told his viewers in advance there were going to be so many tornadoes and warnings it would be tough for them to keep up, so to treat any storm that approaches as dangerous and take cover as if it had a tornado (which on that day in Alabama, it probably did). cyclone77
The lightning has been pretty wicked the past hour or so back here in the trailing anvil rain. Lots of multiple repeating ultra bright flashes, followed by super long rumbles of thunder occasionally shaking the house.
