Well timing matters as much as snowfall, doesn’t it? If it were happening at 1am that’s very different from SN during the morning commute—especially with the number of clowns that drive past flashing red, tailgate buses, etc. Not saying it’s great, but I get it. Still-in a snowy winter you could rack up 10 snow days doing that. The only saving grace this year was that 3 of the storms were on weekends otherwise we'd already be at 7-8 days with a few weeks to go

Its almost always about the timing... If it is snowing during bus travel time, the vast majority of the districts will cancel... Although tomorrow, there may be a move to long delays to allow for any scraping and treatment routines to have run their course; given the lightness of the event... at least that is what I am hearing???

Though I think if parents had a choice between a closure or doing remote learning for the day they’d choose the closure like 9 to 1 lol. It seems like everybody hated that (for some obvious reasons). I never recommend what to do... but will voice my opinion about the current forecast trends, and how I expect roads to behave during the mid / late morning period... Litchfield county may over-perform... Considering a long delay to reassess is certainly a good option... as long as parent are ready to react, which is a huge issue...

metagraphica
Refresher incoming. Expecting 2, maybe 3". I want all the snow gone, but f*ck it, if we're gonna snow let's make it historical. Tomorrow, Thurs/Fri, next Monday MAX them all out. 58.6" for the season. Way above my seasonal average. Don't think we'll make it to the ~86" 14-15 record IMBY, but ya never know. 2

Ginx snewx
@FXWXno school our district Plainfield which means 2 rugrats here all day while their mothers work. Gonna make snow ice cream and watch for 80th time Pokémon movie. Plainfield cited road conditions and heavy band of snow with 3 expected. It's a hot mess around here
Spaizzo
I highly doubt itI know several towns around here that are waiting until morning already called a delay. They’ll call it around 6 they still don’t get through school lot and yard cleanups because we had a parking ban and the lots are used for residents…If it’s snowing past 7/8 they’ll likely call it here .

I do think 3 inches is the possible, but I have stayed under that other than indicating spotty areas; yet to be determined. Odd they used wording of heavy band of snow... They are one of my clients and I did not use the term heavy nor 3"expected. Concerns over ongoing road issues and a period accumulating snow; certainly! Enjoy the time with the rugrats, can never get enough time with the little ones.
