Steady light snow in Belmont. Ground is whitening and cars are starting to be covered. 

 

Radar is filling in nicely as well. Some particularly heavier returns popping up over the Charlotte area and to the SW into the upstate. 

 

Surface temperature starting to drop as well, down to 28.5°.

Light snow in Greenville. Temp is 30. I am not impressed at all with the radar returns. I assume that will start filling in and expanding as the ULL moves in?

A meso-low will form as the ULL moves in and tilts. A heavy band of snow will form north of this meso-low from GSP up to CLT and down to CAE. Expect things to ramp up over the Upstate starting around sunrise. Anything before then is just a bonus.

Just from the ULL for there. North Georgia will still see snow (2-4 inches with a little over 5 inches near the SC and NC border) but the band of heavier snow (6+ inches) will be from Greenville southeast to Greenwood and east/northeast bound from there. The further east and northeast you go the more snow you will see with Charlotte being the bullseye. This map below from GSP shows the cut off really well between the yellow and dark blue:

North Georgia will still see snow (2-4 inches with a little over 5 inches near SC) but the band of heavier snow (6+ inches) will be from Greenville southeast to Greenwood and east/northeast bound from there. The further east and northeast you go the more snow you will see with Charlotte being the bullseye. This map below from GSP shows the cut off really well between the yellow and dark blue: 

What do you think for Athens, GA and about 20 miles west of there? Radar keeps pushing back the onset further and further.

2-4 inches for Athens is a safe bet. Slightly less 20 miles west of there.

Not from the meso low as described in that post, but general ascent from the ULL itself will support a swath of snow around ATL and N&E towards daybreak as well.

Very light snow in Tega Cay and a dusting so far...29/16

Heavier bands just starting to set up over the E Piedmont/Upstate...good luck to all- this should be a pretty memorable storm for most of us today
