h5 does look super interesting though. Baja and Western Ridging really starting to interact. Maybe i'm nuts but it almost looks like it wants to hold back and send initial slug of moisture in and then have a round two.

It's close. It's seems like they keep sniffing around that idea today. Will be curious if the 00z runs have any surprises..

NAM is definitely sleet on this sounding at 18z for RDU. Only area above freezing is a small sliver from 850-800mb
