That type of system at the end of that run is a fetish of mine. Nice branching high with good cold and precip well ahead of the low.

Yep. You get a prolonged overrunning and then you take advantage of a bit of conveyor that gets going as the low goes south of us.

A big overrunning WAA type of event with a huge uniform precip shield is my favorite. Like PDII was one of the best, everyone wins and i dont really care about the wind

Absolutely.

Shit or get off the pot time though for having a AN snow season for anyone who averages over about 45”.

If we can score even a couple 4-8” type events, that would go a long way to keeping us in the game. EPS is showing PNA trying to spoke again late month so maybe another window for a coastal there. GEFS more lukewarm on that but it does have a pretty cold look with slight SE ridging.

The PNA is still being undersold.

That was a pretty nice euro run. Lot of chances.

Lot's of negative interference...

It's been plaguing the 15/16 wave space, in every guidance really since the get go.

Still, the EPS mean has steadily improved - just not a chunk move - yet ... but this at least a middling impact signaled here

I dunno it's awful when its too much wind and powder, 2003 and 2005 i managed 10-15" in both and it looked like it snowed about 4-6" with bare grass showing and random 3 foot drifts.

And its not like it was .25/hr for 48 hours, there was a six hour period or so there with 1-3"/hr

Yeah that was a uniform snowfall if there ever was one, at least locally.

Legit arctic airmass around 18th.

But looks like one of them “west is colder than north” type packages. Slight moderation as it swings East after diving south…

Boston warmer than Greenville SC type deals…

Could be a big deal in places like Atlanta…

That is what usually happens with arctic blasts in +TNH patterns...historic cold knifes down the center of the country and we get unremarkable anomalies.

Nice MJO journey at the same time.

you must have PD2 confused with something else. 2003 had a high moisture contest.

Don't confuse QPF with LE is the snowfall...it was a dry snow just off of the coast.

Yeah it was a fluffy, dry snow. Though I was probably incorrect with 18, pretty sure we had 24" in North Attleboro. Zero drifting.

Great storm and all, but wasn't awe-inspiring or exciting. lol
