Struggling to maintain the slushy coating with temps hovering around 33. May need to apologize to the folks more worried about temps. Still nice to see the snow fall, but hard to see me eclipsing 1”, maybe less

I mean we always worry about temps, but I’m def not gonna make declarative statements about a storm before it even happens.  I just like to wait to get into it and if things start or keep going left, ok sure.  But imma give the models a chance at least to verify.

Started snowing here around 330 but at 34 and light intensity, lost an hour to non accum snow. Temp right at 32 now but mostly light snow outside of one moderate burst. Quarter inch or so on the deck and looks like some better returns on radar might be moving in shortly.

36 and mostly sleet. Some slushy accumulation on grass. We have been about 2-3 degrees above forecast IMBY since yesterday afternoon, so temps have been an issue.

We all thought the rates would overcome, but it seems warm air pooled just ahead of the arctic front, making it a bigger issue for the dmv.

North to fdk and along i-70 seem to be doing fine though.

Temp fell to 32 here within an hour of precip starting but rates have generally been light since. That's the bigger problem when we are looking at a short duration event.

I think it’s the rates that are hamstringing us.  Yes temps are at play too. But in the heavy busts I had, things whitened up proper.  I think Im good for an inch tho. So there’s that.

I was at 33 at 7 pm, then went up to 37 and once precip started back down to 33 and just now 32 as the back edge nears. The 4 degree rise can be attributed to the pooling of warmer air ahead of the front, kind of like the burst of temps before summer tstorms arrive. You should do much better over there, CAPE.

I don’t think I could get more than a 0.5” measurement off my deck right now. I’m calling it a night but will trust whatever comes in spotter report-wise for me.

really kinda had 1.5” as my floor… whoops
