There are 16 days left with a volatile pattern evolving. Way way to early to throw in the snow towel for this month.Way way too much cold around.

The junkies don't see their next fix and are jonesin hours after the last flake fell. This place is bonkers

It is.

Weymouth flips out with each run of the models now…he’s one of the biggest Debbie’s going. Posts a week 4 map lol…wtf happened to that guy?  36 hrs ago he was saying how good it looks. I know…he’s had kevins craftsman run into his cheeks, but my god what a mess he is.

It’s gonna ebb and flow…watch SNE end up with more snow the second half, than the first. Wouldn’t take much…but he’s saying good by to winter with a week 4 map.  Pathetic.

I didn't get that impression...

The sequence this December has summed up my climo since 2018....this exact sequence. 12/2 nailed areas JUST to my north....like legit 3-5 miles, then the mid atlantic gets a couple, followed a closer graze that nails southern portions of the region. Now we flip back to a NNE pattern that will focus north of me. Just relentlessly frustrating, aside from maybe 3 days....1/7/2024, 2/1/2021 and 12/6?/2019. I get something from both extremes, so I avoid the cellar seasons that SOP has gotten, but have an unmatched streak of overall futility (7 consecutive seasons of greater than 10" below average and counting).

Again ... setting expectations proportional to what is becoming (otherwise) too painfully clear to ignore, will do wonders for ameliorating one's angst.  When the flow slows, it's too warm to snow - or tends to be.  I've learned to just know this will result - and I've been right more often then not.  I feel no distraction.

Acceptance will set you free!

Related to that ... I was looking at the 300+ hr Euro and that's remarkable.   570 dm heights over the EPO domain, almost that high over the eastern limb of the NAO domain, and the flow in between spanning the continent is compressed at the nadir.  So much so it's intrinsically a +velocity-related negative interference pattern.   So it's like yeah ... there's cold around ( still - ) but getting it to 40N, here we are again.  Seeing so without this negative result has been rarefying.

I don't think my climo has dropped this precipitously for the long-term...maybe it has and I'm wrong, but talk to me in another 6-8 years.

I did…maybe I misunderstood too then?  But whatever. Might be time for me to spend less time here for a little while.

I think he was a little tongue-in-cheek with the "winter ends" proclamation, but just my take. Point was that the pattern looks to be subpar for a while.

It absolutely hasn’t…you’re good.

No, I agree, but I’ll take my chances…been frigid and have 2” for the month, so it wouldn’t take much to do even better than that in the snow department. But I’m mostly good with what has transpired so far…mostly due to my winter activity/hobby that takes me into NNE…where they have been doing extremely well.

Lemme know what needs clarification

The end of the week probably ends up something like…

Wed 39-44…Thu 45-50…Fri 50-55

BDL normal will be near 40°. Compared to what it’s been I think the vibe is going to be warmth. But I don’t really know what you’re talking about by pattern…this week? the upcoming few weeks?

We’ll see. I think Steve used the word volatile and I agree. It may feel a little like a rollercoaster temp wise with anomalies leaning cooler the further north you go with more wedging during times of WAA.

I think I clarified it a few times. I said maybe we can take our chances with a front ender, but it’s not wrong to say the pattern stinks.

I like how I get crap for pointing out that the pattern kind of stinks, but people have no issue with these social media Mets going wild and hyping everything little 10mb fart leading to massive snow.

Are you new here? Lol

If it’s positive, it doesn’t matter what form it takes. If it’s negative you get “it’s early” “it can change” “it’s day 10” “you just had snow” and my personal favorite “we just don’t know”.

Will not posting and/or Dryslot doing model pbp are my two biggest weather bugaboos. close the shades type events.

Agree. If Will disappears, you can probably bet the foreseeable future offers absolutely not hope.

and if dryslot is analyzing model runs, I just assume moose fart Maine on the Canadian border is in line for some snow.

I posted what I did, before I read your last couple posts..:so I didn’t see your clarification, so I stand corrected there.  So maybe as Ray said, your winter over post was tongue in cheek.?   It’s All good.

I check out X once in a great while..and I regret it every time I do. Same old bs going on, not just weather related. I seriously think being chronically online damages people beyond repair.

I’ve deleted every social media app. It’s hot trash.

I mostly use social media nowadays for sports news/rumors but even those are a joke. There is this stupid Boston page that does does for Bruins/Red Sox and the authors are a bunch of click bait tools with their ridiculous titles. I wish it could be blocked from my google searches for news/rumors. I'd also like to tell them off.

It's frustrating to say the least, but call me an optomist..... Pattern doesn't suck, it just doesn't seem to stay consistent enough to make you feel confident in how things will play out, especially looking out past 1 week. Chin up!
