Geoboy645
Looks to be a very cool start to the month for the entire region. Some very impressive cold anomalies showing up for later next week considering the time of year and how far out this is. Definitely a difference from the last couple of Septembers where we were in the 80s and 90s well into the month.
Frog Town
Curious if the pattern is trying to tell us something for the upcoming Winter? When was the last time Summer ended this cool? Obviously more questions than answers but getting a little excited with how things are setting up.

Chambana
Top Tier weather that looks to continue for the next 7-10 days, it’s incredibly dry though. A welcome change of pace with these temperatures as the last several years the 90s seemed to have lingered well into September. Gotta be the coolest start to September since what? 2013-2014? Brian D
Having colder wx to start off Sept really is refreshing. Bound to happen tho. Years of hot starts don't last forever. The beauty of weather, and it's cycles.

hawkeye_wx
It has been 2.5 weeks without rain. The lawns have de-greened quite a bit. We could use a good soak again.

Hopefully we get blasted with 5"+ from some remnants in the 2nd half of the month.

TheNiño Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM This pattern reminds me of living in San Diego. Blessed the weather has been so perfect and comfortable, but damn it I’m getting bored with the lack of variety too lol 1

OrdIowPitMsp Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM There’s an outside chance Minnesota sees it’s earliest accumulating snow on record. September 14th 1964 0.3” fell at International Falls, so if anything accumulates the record will be shattered.

Back in the mid 90's, I was working at a sawmill, and we had flakes flying here in TH during the last week of Sept. That also heralded a rather cold winter. Not saying this would portend that, but definitely a cold start to Fall. Quote from DLH forecast discussion: The second cold front will bring a slightly more organized and persistent area of rain showers southeastward through the Northland today. Additional showers are likely behind that front as well this afternoon into tonight. As temperatures fall overnight, showers may become a mix of rain and snow. A thin coating of snow may survive through sunrise before melting shortly thereafter. Frost is possible overnight into Thursday morning, though clear skies and calm winds would likely be required.
Brian D Posted yesterday at 04:52 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:52 PM Low max temp records will probably fall today up my way. A cursory check shows records in the low-mid 50's from 1926.

WestMichigan Posted yesterday at 06:00 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:00 PM GFS wants to ease the dry conditions bringing the remnants of a tropical system up the the lower great lakes region. Would certainly help out with the drought in the Ohio region assuming the fantasy land GFS is at all accurate.

michsnowfreak Posted yesterday at 08:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 08:30 PM This is an interesting random fact. Assuming we dont hit 90F this September, it will be the 7th consecutive September without hitting 90F at Detroit. That has never happened before in the climate record (the previous longest was 6 consecutive years, 1875-1880). The last time DTW hit 90 in Sept was Sept 5, 2018.
