Angus
renewed both my IndyPass and Ikon. Planning maybe two trips out west - Palisades again for a week and ?. And then another trip to Europe with a tour maybe this time along the Austrian-Swiss border - Silvretta Alps Traverse. I need to get my back situation under control, re-injured it in early June and was in bed for almost a week.

Angus
Getting back to Aosta Valley, IKON announced today... IKON Pass holders will now have access to Courmayeur Mont Blanc, Cervino Ski Paradise, La Thuile Espace San Bernardo, Monterosa Ski, and Pila, all of which are located in the Valle d’Aosta region. I skied Courmayeur, Pila, La Thuile (& the connected French resort) and Cervino which is the Italian side of Zermatt and interconnected. All were outstanding. radarman
94 bucks for Epic day passes good at Stowe (et al) isn't a terrible deal. Picked up a few before the Sept 1 deadline.
radarman
I used to always buy K Tix but I dunno, $145 doesn't seem like much of a deal at this range. I like the place but jeez. Probably just go to Magic if in the area, or continue north.

It's a great deal IMO especially when you look at Stowe's sticker price mid-season. Grabbed 3 days each for me and my son back in May - $86 a day can't beat it..

GCWarrior
Labor Day starts getting me pretty pumped for ski season! Hope is to get after it a bit more this season, didn't hit 100 for the first time in 4 seasons. Makes me sad. Gotta get after it more life is too short. Just ski!
HoarfrostHubb
Any opinions on the Mount Ellen part of Sugarbush? Our daughter can get a college pass there for $199 for the season... not sure if it is worth it
radarman
It's awesome and 199 is a total bargain Only caveat is that it gets 2nd class citizen treatment from Alterra sometimes, but still great.

I did not ski 100 days last year either. 5 of the last 7 seasons I did though and I hope to hit it again this year.

It's still a 2.5 hour drive from her campus... if she can get the Outdoor Club or whatever interested so they can carpool or take a van I think she should go for it. Her car is pretty old to make that trip a lot.

Her car is pretty old to make that trip a lot. She'll probably need to go at least 3 times before it's worth it. If it's that far it's a harder call IMO. Ellen-only day tix can be had for cheap sometimes, especially weekdays
GCWarrior
Reupped my EPIC northeast value pass. Only 50 mins to Mount Snow with having occasional midweek flexibly makes it a no brainer. I was weighing my options and came to the conclusion that if you're not skiing Saturday it's a not a bad place to be. It's not very steep but it's not completely flat either. It has some decent natural snow trails and the on and off map woods can be fun. The bonus of Stowe is nice plus the northern NH epic hills are a blast especially Wildcat. I actually had a killer day at Okemo of all places last January, skied only woods and natural snow trails the entire day, pretty fun times really. Maybe being 44 I'm not as inclined to seek the gnar so I'm just enjoying skiing more no matter where it is.

Ellen’s lifts have been in a bit unreliable in recent years, so sometimes there are weekday closures of terrain that can be a bit maddening. Alterra definitely needs to pour some money into the operation. Mad River Glen next door also offers a $180 season pass for college students as well.
