Interesting there are showers moving SE to NW towards the bay and showers moving NW to SE towards I-95 at the same time.

I predict a convergence zone with incredible lift and flooding somewhere between the Fall line and the bay.

The lowlands really could use another flood. There's only been 5 or 6 since July. We could use more cloudy, humid days too lol

  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin

I wish I kept track of how many cloudy, swamy mornings this summer. I was on the swim team as a kid. We practiced every morning. I never remember dreary mornings during summer. This summer has to be a record. Another dreary day. Yay

Last week the forecast was for sunny weather for multiple days in a row despite any effects from Erin.

This week at Dewey has been nasty. Constant cloud cover, mist, high winds, high waves.

It has been a record in terms of high humidity and high dew points both nationally and globally.

Yeah this is getting ridiculous with day after day of dreary, but yet I have to run the damn sprinklers (it has not rained more than a couple tenths at a time here since July 2).  I hope next week's forecasts of sunny and cool are right!

The forecast last week was dependent on the exact track, strength, and timing of Erin. There was a fair amount of uncertainty at that time. Had it recurved sooner and tracked further offshore, the weather this week would have been quite a bit different.

Talking early in the week when Monday and Tuesday were cloudy and wet at the beach with mostly cloudy skies and mist. Areas back home had sun in Northern De., and PA was mostly sunny. The front stalled, more onshore flow and what was forecasted as sunny turned into cloudy conditions for the Southern areas. 

Erin's impact on Dewey's weather was more mid to late week. Today being the worse of the last four days here. I need more orange crushes today.

I agree. We're about the same age and in middle/high school I ran cross country and don't remember a) temps above about 97 and b) this kind of humidity. Of course that wasn't a particularly long time. As soon as I went away to college, I discovered beer, pizza and blew up like a balloon and rarely saw a clock before noon.

First time in while when looking at https://www.greencastonline.com/tools/soil-moisture my current soil moisture is above 5 year and 10 year averages,  while my current soil temp is below 5 year and 10 year averages. 

I believe to overseed a cool season lawn you want a 5 day average soil temp of 70 degrees or lower.  Still waiting until Sept to do any lawn overseeding projects, but at least the medium trend is positive for lawn health in areas of the forum where rain has fallen.

Looks like some drier air is slowly making it's way into the region as Erin pulls away...maybe we can get some breaks in the clouds by early evening.  4 days straight of this...it's time for a pattern flip.

Total overwash in wildwood crest NJ in a pretty stiff breeze. Low tide now, seagulls be like "SCREEEE!" flying by. Will be a fun high tide later. The ocean is ROUGH. I've never seen the horizon look so choppy here (been coming for 35+ years)
