Guessing it will be almost ideal by August standards for the PSU kickoff tomorrow? Sounds like it couldn't be a better football day this early in the season.

Here's a new one......national low of 27 near Big Bay, MI.

Looks like a ULL feature could control our weather late next week through the weekend, and then a possible warmup after that.  Onward.

Our run of dry and unseasonably cool weather looks to continue through at least the next week. Another cold front is crossing the area today and by later today winds will turn to the west, northwest, and become gusty. Dew points will fall into the 40's by evening and actual air temperatures will likely follow with widespread lows by Saturday morning in the chilly 40's. Some of our usual colder lower valley spots may be in the low 40's with even some 30's not out of the question. Some higher spots may not escape the 60's for highs tomorrow afternoon. Rain chances look low for much of the week before some chances of rain creeping back into the forecast by Thursday.

Straight up 45.0 here at 5:10am. Might dip under, but perhaps not enough for an official 44.

I did it 39 degrees this morning. In August no less.

43 (43.3) is likely to be my low this morning. I wish I'd kept records as this might be the coldest August morning I've experienced since living in Tamaqua.

Lows were in the 40's across much of the area this morning with the lowest being the 41.6 at Warwick. Of note the low this morning at East Nantmeal was 49.2 - this is the first time in my 22 years of weather observations that I recorded a temperature in August in the 40's! Expect many areas to again see lows by Sunday morning in those same chilly 40's. Beautiful but dry weather continues through the holiday weekend and through at least Wednesday. There is a chance of some much-needed rain by Thursday...fingers and toes crossed!

Boy, what a low temperature this morning!  44.2 degrees around 6:45am.  Like many others have mentioned, it's been a really long time since widespread 40's were recorded in August, albeit the 30th, but officially August and still both meteorological summer and astronomical summer.  This weather is so wonderful, especially the low dew points.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this low was 14 degrees below the average low of 58.2 degrees for today.  Normal (average) high for today is 82 degrees.  It seems it's been impossible to score a low temp departure this great in late summer in a really long time.
