But I've typically found it fairly reasonable and DP is showing DP as pretty well mixed (66F). It's an AWOS-3P. I've long suspected it only has passive shielding because of how quickly it races out ahead of everyone else in the morning. I know it has a little elevation being 400 ft. ASL, but so do other stations. For example this morning at 8 AM, SNC was the warmest temp in the state by 2° showing 86 when the next warmest DXR and BDL were only 84 and most everywhere else upper-70s/low-80s. If you look at MADIS they seem to be consistently 2F warmer than surrounding stations for years. It could just flat out be error. When I looked at the temp map after you questioned it it did appear they should’ve been around 98° for a high. But I don’t know much about that site so I’ll defer. Snowedin
100 on the nose here. This is crazy, especially so close to the ocean. Totally different vibe from yesterday too, just a total southwest heat inspired furnace!

Sun exposure didn't seem any different. The spike did coincide with a drop in dew point.

bristolri_wx
May have hit 100 here in Bristol. The Davis station in town was 97.8 but it’s closer to the water than the other 5 stations that all went over 100 today. Crazy, it rarely gets this warm here due to the breeze, which doesn’t exist today…
