Isn't the priority of a major airport to move people?  Why haven't they redirected or reduced cargo planes at Newark if there is such a problem there?  It shouldn't matter if Fedex or UPS have major contracts.  In a state of emergency as it seems Newark Airport is in, shouldn't the FAA step in and at least try to relieve some of the air traffic?  Oh boo hoo, we get our packages a day or two later because Fedex flights are redirected to JFK, LaGuardia or Philly...

Some AI estimates for May:

Final April numbers will be posted tomorrow.

Mid-month update on the AI idea:

It's still too early to be sure about the extent of skill or lack of skill involved in the forecasting realm.

In another area, AI continues to progress. It is now able to turn photos of flowers into works approaching fine art. Two examples are below from processed photos taken at the New York Botanical Garden this spring. True photo editing does not yet exist, but could be about a year away. OpenAI is working on it, at present. Other AI companies are likely pursuing similar avenues. Should AI develop true photo editing capabilities that are easy to use, that development could disrupt the market for processing software (Topaz, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, etc.).

Question:

I was in Warsaw this week and we saw snow on Thursday. Trying to understand how anomalous that is? Does anyone know where you can find European historical data?

I searched it up because I was curious myself and someone wrote that their grandmother told them that when she was little it used to snow in May once or twice every so often.

Someone else said it snows there in the 2010s as well.

It can't be that rare then I guess.

A week or two ago some peaks in Greece got some snow as well.

if it can snow here in May it can definitely snow in Warsaw in May.

I didn't know about Greece, it must have been in the mountains.
