Nobody else felt the earthquake?

Yep. I was checking in a patient. The ceiling at the office I work at is all wood slabs (it looks like a log cabin) and it was shaking and creaking. We both just stood there staring up at it confused.

House shook for about 10 seconds back and forth for a little after 8 this morning. i live in Upstate SC. Never experienced one that strong before!

I experienced 2 in Columbia several years ago and when it hit this morning, I actually giggled to myself knowing that was the third time I’ve experienced one, and glad it wasn’t any worse than the others  :)

Didn't feel a thing here in Eastern NC. Current conditions: partly cloudy 90/79.

The sound just before the shaking is one of the strangest sounds there is

Felt two quakes, first baby one ~ 2am, then the good one around 8am. All the ceiling fans and light fixtures were swinging. I was half asleep, felt like one of those old vibrating beds in a motel room for a sec :D

No rain IMBY today, stormed all around me tho

A backdoor cold front will sweep down the Southern Appalachians Sat night, bringing lower dew points and seasonably cool air. Asheville could drop below 60°F Monday morning for the first time since June 26th, and a few high elevation peaks could fall into the low-to-mid 40s #NCwx https://t.co/gYcAunPIps

Yep, it was crazy. Started raining around 8:00 PM lat night. Picked up 2 inches by 1 AM. Then, it really began to rain. Picked up another 6 inches by 3 AM. Just torrential buckets of rainfall. I have now recorded 8.93 inches of rainfall since it started last night. 8.93?!?!

I was outside with a metal rake and wading boots for the 1-3 AM timeframe, fighting to keep a storm drain clear so my basement wouldn't flood again. With a new interior drainage system and by God's grace, we remain dry inside.

We were lucky about 50 miles to your west.  We have only had 2.75 total.

Really bad photo (lighting was horrific), but you can see the whirlpool and suction created when I finally got some clearance on the drain. I then had to man that spot for a couple of hours to keep it free from debris. Otherwise, all that water goes across the road, down my driveway, and right at my house, putting incredible pressure on my basement wall. I'm gonna have to talk to the city and see what they could do to alleviate this situation, if anything.

New drainage system with dial sump pumps was still working hard to combat the water.

Nice respite so far today, but I expect the rain to pick up again soon.

RAH:  Cooler temperatures are expected today! Highs in the upper 70s are expected over north-central NC, especially along and north of I-85. The last time we had highs < 80F was June 18 at GSO (76F) and June 17 at RDU (also 76F). Enjoy this brief taste of September-like temps! #ncwx https://t.co/PJ3aMnZ8AJ
