I was partial to the 95-96 playlists with Kenny G. Lots of hours spent watching the current conditions in Dec 95/Jan 96 with these tunes playing.

Trammell Starks was vintage in 1995-1996 too.

10 day GFS snow map sums up this winter.

This is like 2014 removed a bit further south, when SNE had snow and southern Canada had snow...but up in NNE we were always in the hole.

Ill have to find the saved snow maps from 2014, but most of Dec/Jan looked like this but with the gap over NNE, not SNE. I still get twitches when someone mentions Leon.  We know the pain.

Euro still tries to get another s/w and drive this into Chicago.

Still give icing on the front end...but yeah, it is still very wound up as it dives a second shortwave in out of nowhere that the other models dont, though still a lot more CAD versus 00z run.

Even with this solution...that's gonne be ice for the deeper interior...good luck getting a place like ORH above freezing in this....maybe even cold tuck for coast? Look at mesolow

I'm sure its right, this season.

Lol...so true this year....everything that wants to go wrong seems to.

But leaving the screw job theme aside for a moment, you can see from that look how it would be relatively easy to get a wave to run along the front instead and produce a pretty good snow event. OBviously we need to avoid the phase in the midwest.
