2018/19 Winter Banter and General Discussion - We winter of YORE

I'm dazed by this news. So upsetting if true.

The guy is a billionaire. What the hell is he doing. What is the psychology behind slumming it like that.

Apparently according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, "not the biggest name" that will come out from this bust.

Unclear if this was a back rub / happy ending massage vs. something more, and unclear how much he actually he knew this was a human trafficking slave ring.

Also unclear what the ramifications will be for the team... I'm sure other NFL owners will be salivating at the chance to penalize Pats again. But he who casts the first stone etc..., I'm sure several of these owners do exactly the same.

I imagine Jonathan Kraft will be taking over.

It’s completely embarrassing for him and the team for that matter, but a happy ending at an Asian massage parlor is night end day from the stuff going on. A 78 yr old going for something extra certainly pales in comparison to beating the shit out of your significant other, and then getting a 30 mil contract. The name obviously drives the attention.

Dude you and I are on the same page... I have no confusion about how disgusting the NFL is, nor where this accusation stands relative to other things.

Obsessing for years over some concocted Boyle's law bs while ignoring flagrant domestic assault until you're forced to acknowledge it only because video footage leaks... and a guy who beats his 8-week-pregnant girlfriend is now on pedestals in KC... and on and on.

The league is corrupt, I have no doubt other NFL owners do the same thing as Kraft all the time, and Goodell is an unprincipled despicable pos.

It just sucks to get this news. You admire an organization, their ethic, and what they've accomplished despite all the venom directed at them.

It's an embarrassing blemish, and the haters are now having a field day.

I also think the other "gates" could be channeled into an "us-vs-them" indignation that ultimately motivates the team. This is just embarrassing.

Just throw a pic of Kraft in the locker room asking for some favors and we’re onto #7. I could care less what people think as long as they win.

They are done winning. This was the last super bowl for a very very long time.

Agree, but I think something like this is harder to channel into motivation and "us-vs-world" indignation. Hard to rally behind "our billionaire owner got videotaped and arrested with a cheap prostitute in a trafficking ring!".

Tainted leadership can infect and hurt a locker room, and at the very least this might be another giant distraction in what was looking like a really promising off-season. We'll see how it unfolds, and maybe things will be "on-to-Cincinnati" once the dust settles.

Well I was kidding with the blocker room . They’ll be fine. It’s an embarrassment for them and a bigger deal obviously compared to if the browns owner went for a tuggy.

Right before Portnoy and Kraft were going to do a pizza review........................

Portnoy and his pizza reviews are obnoxious.  It's just away for that guy to get free pizza.  Dozens and dozens of pizza shops after a while they're all the same, and I don't think the social media audience cares as much as Portnoy thinks they do.

Kidding aside, I hope it’s no more than a rub and tug.

It doesn't really matter if it was a happy ending rub n tug. If the women were being held against their will, it's human trafficking and it's bad whether he knew it or not

Except when human trafficking is involved and the women were being held against their will in deplorable conditions which is what is being reported.

I find it very interesting that Kraft says he "categorically did not do anything wrong" while the police say that they have video of the act being performed.

Should be interesting!

Also, why in the world is this billionaire going to a very public "day spa" where it only costs $80 to get your jollies off. If I were him I would of paid the $500 or whatever it is to have a high-end escort service come to his house? What a cheapass and an idiot

It’s possible he didn’t know. Most people going  there aren’t thinking that.

No one that rich goes to them.

You’d be surprised. It doesn’t excuse it, but for some reason those places will attract many who don’t need it. I have no clues why he was dumb enough to do this.

Bruschi:

Bruschi, who spent the entirety of his 13-year NFL career with the Patriots, said he’s “holding on” to Kraft’s denial while he waits for new information to emerge. He called Friday “a tough day,” citing his personal relationship with Kraft as well as Kraft’s charitable work within the community.

“It’s a tough, confusing time right now for myself [and] for a lot of fans of the New England Patriots that something like this would happen to the leader of an organization that everyone in this region I guess looked to [for] the way things should be done in the right way,” Bruschi said. “It’s a tough day.”

“It’s some tough conversations that parents will have to have because the New England Patriots are in the fabric of all of the families here in this region.”
