Mid-Long Range Discussion 2016-2017

Recommended Posts

It's called the banter thread. That was the reason it was created several years ago.
I've been round long enough to learn how to skim through posts. I assume others try it. Makes it easy to bypass crap.

Yeah, I've been around I know what it's called and guess what? It has lost its utility, so sometime change is good.

Feb is usually our month anyway. It's always a bonus if we get anything in Jan.

This is just plain wrong.. January is our snowiest and coldest month. Don't let your pessimism continue to ruin you and the forum.

It wasn't even that bad if you look at GEFS.  Nothing to jump for.  The players are taking the field. We will be ok.

the forum is quickly becoming a contest as to who can out-troll the rest when it comes to winter wx.  absolutely awful and makes the board near unreadable.

+1 I dont post much, I normally stick back and learn. But the trolls and negative nancys are getting old real quick!!! I heard the same thang this time last year, only to end up with 19" imby on January 23rd. I know its banter but needed to be said!

I hope most of you guys don't go anywhere. I don't comment much because of only 5 posts a day and I use them wisely or not at all. Don't let these weenies push you out. I enjoy reading and learning fwiw. I look forward to each model run hopefully we can get rid of this stubborn SER after 10days.

A lot of people haven't seen snow in 3 years. Yes 3 years!!! So I think some people are getting desperate.

???? Most of the posters in here are from N.C even a few from G.A and S.C have seen snow in the last three years, even if it was flurries. You've enen seen snow on your so called snow chases. The whining and complaining is getting old. Winter just officially started less than a week ago for crying out loud........like met myself and others have stated its probably going to be mid January before we receive the goods.

Temperature anomalies month to date plus the 5 day GFS forecast to close the month

Should end up a pretty solid match with the CFS forecast.

I think we get winter weather too, especially in NC, northwest SC, and NE GA, but just not in Jan. It will be in Feb. Probably a major ice storm in the CAD areas then. 1 good cold snap that puts us down into the teens, but just for 1 or 2 nights.

The 384 para GFS 12Z , is a beauty! NW trend and there would be a lot of happy people!

I applaud your confidence for posting that. Seriously even though it's far out it's still fun to see
