November is known for mega snow events in Buffalo my Aunt used to live in East Amherst, NY

I'm in Amherst now, but it's a big town. East Amherst can technically be a good 25-30 minute drive from where I am with some traffic. East Amherst typically sees slightly less snow than the southern part of Amherst where I am but it really all depends on the set up. As for big November events yes the Buffalo area can see huge events in November, see November 2014 (7 feet in 3 days about 6-10 miles south of Buffalo itself), or November 2000 which crippled the city itself with a quick 2 feet of snow falling after lunch time and during rush hour. Now as for this possible event, while it's exciting to see the Euro outputs it's just absurd and I would be amazed to see 1/3 of its output. I definitely think we're gonna see our first accumulating snowfall here in WNY this weekend but I don't think it's going to be anything to put up on the list of all time November storms.

Hanalei Bay Resort is covered with solar panels.  This investment seems poorly thought out.

Pretty stout inversion has those clouds pinned on windward sections of the islands. I was going to say funny how the yellow pixels only follow you on vacation, but that radar in Poipu is more useless for Princeville than CXX is for the eastern Greens.

Yeah, I could never live here mostly due to the $20 cheeseburgers and the poor radar coverage.  It seemingly rains for 30 seconds about every 60 minutes.

The air here, everywhere I've been, has been so weirdly smoggy looking.  It looks ultra humid but it's strangely dry/comfy when compared to Key West.

Here's a nice time lapse of this afternoon.

It's a whole other world living makai. It's usually dry, better radar coverage, warmer.

Definitely not as dewy as EYW though. In general it's mid to upper 60s (maybe HTO is consistently around 70).

That's what we had on Oahu North Shore during our March visit.  After flying from late winter in Maine, cloudy low 70s actually felt better than the sunny 80s that had greeted us in HNL.  (Locals were in light jackets and running their electric space heaters, though.)

You've got a point.     And we actually had 3 winters - Dec. 29, Jan. 13, and Feb. 14.  Wish some had lasted more than one day.

However, we drove in sleet as we went to PWM the night before our red-eye thru CHI to HNL.

W. Coast shake coming soon.  Next week or two.

I have a geologist friend at UM Missoula that likes to tie in many scientific and not yet proven astrological indicators and he sees a good W US shake coming up imminently.    Hopefully not, but if it comes to pass, I'll just sit back and wonder why .

Ginx did some research and found this area of CT on out to HFD and west has rainfall deficits between 35-40" going back to 2011.

Wild

Is this part of your contention that the drought goes back three year even though year one had more rain than normal?  If we go back to 2011, only 2015 & 2013 had below normal precip.  In 2011 of all years we had over 70" of rain (nearly 25" above normal).  In fact, if I average 2016 back to 2011, I get nearly average precip.

That is, of course, if you're referring to some other area when you say "this area" and that would not be unusual.  I remember one time you were talking about some small area 75 miles away...lol.

Yeah, maybe Steve's rain gauge is clogged with dog poop?

He went back and looked at yearly data.

@TollandKev @ericfisher CT 2011-12 41.99 -7.58 2012-2013 41.54 -8.03 2013-14 43.22 -6.25 2014-15 39.75 -9.82 2015-16 35.85 -13.72

What site is that for?  In 2011 I recorded over 70" of precip.  That's almost 30" below that.

I'm looking at BDL. They had almost 70" in 2011. 52" in 2013.
