Holding steady around 34F, which is pretty crazy for a mid-afternoon in October. This is more wintry weather than I saw until the middle of January last year, so hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

35 here with rain, just miserable. No measurable snow here this morning

The biggest takeaway from those photos is the earlier leaf drop.

Colors were still vibrant... Just alot sooner this year compared to last yr.

Yeah, I had some really nice vivid colors this Fall, they just didn't hang around.  The foliage still isn't that bad around here.

Some folks at work reported "hail" during their lunchtime walk yesterday but whether I see my legit first flakes of the season tomorrow remains to be seen.  That said, the bigger take away for me is that we are looking at another possible good soaking of near an inch or so of liquid.  That's two decent soakings in the past week so I'm hoping that just maybe we are starting to eat into this drought and setting up a wetter pattern for the winter months.  Time will tell.

Well that was wishful thinking. While I did receive another nice soaking it looks like that was it for decent precipitation for a while again.
