The back and forth today is kind of silly.

It isn't silly! It's a very fluid, changing situation. The SPC doesn't update every 4 minutes like a RADAR scan. The strong parameters have shifted further West and North, so the risk areas have been updated to reflect that. Several people mentioned earlier today that they expected that to happen.

RTP not sunny at all been overcast all day, clouds are moving quickly tho. A little breezy but nothing major. Doesn't feel all that soupy out really IMO

That's how it was in the Panhandle for a large part of the day yesterday and very quickly clouds broke, it warmed up a bit, & all hell broke loose! Not saying it's going to happen where you are but don't let your guard down.

Oh I won't. I'm at work but we are dead because our 2 major shipments (Birmingham and Tampa) are very late and probably not arriving - I am keeping tabs on absolutely everything. Good to know that the panhandle was similar to this though. It's the talk of the lab here is the weather.

Just had one of the meso areas pass over my house, brought constantly changing wind direction and shifting rain (fron south to west to northeast and back around) for about a min or so. Direction of wind and rain suggested rotation? This possible? I'm north east of Smithfield in Johnston County.

Edit: Just realized at one point it was blowing against the way the strom was coming from.
