Temperature forecast bust here today. Earlier in the week, mid and upper 40's were predicted, but as it became obvious that the inversion would hang tough, progged highs were dropped back to upper 30's.

Well, a sucker hole developed in the stratus and we suddenly torched to 47°. Actually feels warm.

On a related note, tomorrow will be the third day in a row that  an air quality alert was issued for the Indy area, kind of unusual for mid December around these parts.

...AN AIR QUALITY ACTION DAY HAS BEEN DECLARED...

THE OFFICIALS AT THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
HAVE CALLED FOR AN AIR QUALITY ACTION DAY ON SATURDAY...DECEMBER
13TH AND SUNDAY...DECEMBER 14TH FOR THE FOLLOWING INDIANA
COUNTIES...

MARION...HAMILTON...MADISON...DELAWARE...HANCOCK...SHELBY...JOHNSON...
MORGAN...HOWARD...HENDRICKS...BOONE AND KKNOX.

FINE PARTICULATE LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE ORANGE OR
UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS RANGE.

complete bootleg warm up here, likely because of snow cover and onshore flow. Haven't cracked 40 the last 3 days.

But the snow is melting away. Hoping it can survive the next 2 or 3 days before temperatures fall below freezing again.

My snowpack is down to 4.7" after it was 8.5" on Thursday.

Hit 49° 50° today here. Could not shake the clouds off one bit today. Fog development started back up after 4pm today, especially as you get inland from the lake a little bit.

Few pictures of the fog this afternoon. Thought the Oaks made it seem kind of spooky!

unfortunetley the overnight time temps were where it was at this weekend it seemed - guess it made it nice for party goers coming home..  But clouds clouds and fog all day, not a way to run a torch..

Yes, muddy paw season can be a bear but at least its coming to a reprieve soon for you.  My cousin and his wife adopted two 5 month old rescue puppies and we witnessed yesterday them battling that chore. Leaving their house after dark last night I unknowingly stepped in a pile of Puppy "mud" Brutal when the floor heat kicked in.

Apparently that farmer forgot he had corn to harvest lol.

0.04" of rain so far from this thin band of stratoform rain.  Impressive event to be sure.

Just about wiped out the December negative temperature anomaly at LAF...-0.2F through yesterday.  LAF is actually the only major reporting site in C IN that isn't in positive territory yet.

That's a product of having a bunk December average temperature...due to missing data and the past LAF warm bias in the 1981-10 timeframe. So, consider us in plus territory. Though, this has been a pretty lame torch versus what was advertised...

Would've been nice to see the sun more.
