Looks like tomorrow night could be the first shot at zero for many of us.  Looks like the high pressure moves right over the DVN area around sunrise Fri morning.  We have a point of 3 above here.  DVN has their northern CWA point around zero.

For Hawkeye, and other areas with an inch or more of snow on the ground it's definitely possible they go below zero.  Cedar Rapids and Dubuque got to sub 5 pretty easily the other night, and this setup looks more ideal for temps to tank.

18z 4km NAM for Fri at 12z.

Best November ever !!! Driving around today it seemed so recent that I was out taking care of the snow. Had a few small hiccups today with some tired wiring but all in all a EZ first significant snow in the books. Having a quick nap and out for clean ups around 1am. Unreal how quickly winter has taken over.

About 3.2" in my area today from the clipper. All that snow made for some horrendous driving in Toronto. Was stuck on the road for 4 hours till i got home.

This brings my season total to 6.3" for the season. YYZ is about the same. The average snowfall for November is 3", lmao.

Slam dunk to be crushed, they may end up well over 30" by the end of the month.

Finally a day with no clouds...  cold/windy, but feels nice in the sun.

12z GFS looks mild this weekend and even into next week (at least mild compared to this)...  Should be 40Fs Sat/Sun...T day looks cold...extended after that looks nice (mild).  Maybe a warm DEC?  i'll take it.

Just for you. Torch.

Whoops, I thought the 8 was a 3...with respect to my list upthread. It's sometimes hard figuring out numbers on the scanned NCDC documents from way back when. Anyways, good for Grand Rapids. Always nice to break a monthly snow record.

never seen such cold and snow in my life this early... im over 55", which includes a 6" Halloween storm.

Also think MQT has the potential of 60" for November depending on the track and wrap around lake enhanced/effect this coming week.

Man, the ground is like a rock out there....should be quite a bit of run off this weekend if modeled QPF's materialize.

Yeah the Rock River is nearly froze over now, which is just unbelievable for such a wide river in mid Nov.  I crossed over the Mississippi into Davenport earlier tonight, and it was still free of ice in that stretch.

Overachiever at LAF this morning with a low temp of 8˚. Second single digit temp of the month.

A couple of others in Indiana did it too this morning: Peru/Grissom hit 6˚ and Zionsville dropped to 8˚.

Pretty rare occurrence for LAF. Only 3 other Novembers had two days with min temps of 9˚ or lower:

1964, 1976, and 1986. The longterm WL COOP has had two Novembers that did it three times: 1937 and 1977.
