Cold fronts that end massive heat waves are typically lackluster for us in terms of widespread severe

if you're closer to the core of the heat then you're further from the best flow. july 99 and aug 2006 had mcs/derecho events hit NNE

Warning now...

* At 630 PM EDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a

line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in

excess of 60 mph. These severe storms extended from East Richford

to Westfield to Stowe... and were moving east at 30 mph.

I think Freak is offline. That destroyed his apartment complex

lol...unfortunately no heavy damage here...just the usual fire calls for barns getting hit by lightning.

My condo is most floor to ceiling glass windows on 3 sides so I'd like to avoid any severe winds. Don't even want to think what it would cost to replace one of those.

anyone else seeing the "heat lightning" around and overhead? pretty impressive. also noted the mwn ob for ltg there

Saw it a couple minutes ago when I was upside down on a roller coaster at canobie. Wasn't sure it was lightning at the time but it would make sense.
