Meanwhile, Marquette has been 33-34 with rain over the past 24 hours.  A very marginal event...but Twin Lakes has enough elevation and is far enough west to squeak through with significant snow for this event.

Even with over a half-inch of rain yesterday, Marquette's snow depth stayed at 32" this morning.

Marquette has changed over, though, reporting -SN at 32/32.

Just imagine those favored spots in the woods. Its feasible that there could be patch of snow that might last into late July or August.

That sounds a bit iffy but you never know.

Its absolutely ridiculous that its now LATE April and it looks like that. Even though some of it was plowed up the depth is probably easily 3-4 feet

drifting like crazy on the cam..  a snow weenies slant sticking and contaminated pictures dream.   wait until the snow blower tacks on 3 more feet.

I've never seen so much drifting on that cam and I've been looking for at least 7 yrs. Normally winds out of the n/westerly direction all winter..  opposite this march and april with tons of system snows and n/easterly winds

Won't happen.  At least not unless snow is stuffed into a deep cave or saved in he freezer.  Even at Paradise Mt. Rainier you need a 200" base at 35% density for any snow to last into August.  That's with average highs ranging from the mid 40s to the mid 60s through May, June, and July.

That would be amazing for January or February, but April??? WTF?

Cold, windy and snowing at a good clip here but just a nuisance type.

:mapsnow:

You know I am going to go out on a limb here and saying that Sparty is not winning this one.

He was trying to influence the weather with a lowball guess. I think there is possibly more snow now than when he guessed.
