Looks like areas from Port Jefferson south to ISP airport and then east to near Upton are getting a nice deformation band.  Temps are coming down nicely - it's about 33F in the area getting the heavier snow, and 33-34F elsewhere.  Warmer temps of 35-38F are lingering east of the last exit on the LIE and into the Twin Forks.

The area from Port Jeff. east to Upton has been the LI jackpot in more winter storms than not in the past 12 years.

looks like a good band is lingering over the Suffolk/Nassau border... a part of that is extending here and is bringing steady light snow and the flake size has gotten considerably larger... starting to stick to grass and other surfaces as well...!

Moderate SN, been going for close to an hour now. Probably two tenths of an inch or so on the grass, nothing on pavement yet although it's been treated, so might be sticking elsewhere. 34 now, Upton has us getting to 39, I don't see it, but we shall see.

1.25" on the grass and colder surfaces, nothing on pavement, 33F, steady light snow with occasionally moderate bursts

6z RGEM looked excellent for where you are at, snow wise...printing out about 30 cm of snow (about 12 inches)  for Wading River.
