It takes a lot to be banned from a subforum. And especially by unanimous consent of the staff. It's only happened one time in the history of eastern and here. I'd be in favor of scrapping it, but we tried that before and we had a near riot. I have no idea what's going on with all of you. I see the posts here so I know something is in dispute but I haven't seen the offending threads. All I'd say is in general I'd have agreed that removing OT would have been fine, but the changes in the last few months....I'm just not seeing any issues there. Maybe you guys are removing it before I see it, but the general riot has subsided and the tone overall is much more constructive. I don't know if that's moderation at work, people have left or whatever. But OT is "fine" IMO. The cross referencing of DBM and this site gets tiresome. Ended up staying in Amherst and ate at this place called The High Horse which took the place of the Amherst Brewing Company. They moved to another location. Said hello to the distant hills visible west of the river....lol. Glad the welcoming committee was out to greet you. You picked a killer weekend to be here... The High Horse is run by the same folks who ran the Moan and Dove in Amherst, and who started the Dirty Truth in Noho. Common thread between them is an excellent beer selection. But I'll answer....and you should be sympathetic to this, because it happened to you and you know how it feels. Cheetah divulged a member's personal information. Not once. Not twice. But on three occasions and on three boards. He was banned on DBM but NOT here after the second time for doing it. Then, after his ban on DBM, in a PM/chat conversation with another member, he openly bragged about how he did it, said he was going to spam it across Amwx and basically taunted me (referred to as King Homo - a name which I kinda like actually). Then he made some reference to Platoon (using a racial slur I might add) where he was going to be like a woman dying in a hut basically daring the soldier to "do it". He then posted her personal info here, which is explicitly against the rules here, and I banned him. If I wanted to ban Cheetah for "nothing" like that tool Ski says, I could have done that when he posted about how black babies should be aborted in back alleys or using the term "niglet" or making AIDS jokes to torment another member. Did I ban him then? Nope, and I had every reason to. You know better, and you even said so yourself that I'm fair. Ski Tool can go f himself. Well it wasn't just one day, it was an accumulation of especially egregious stuff. We had prominent members complain...I'm talking people who never complain or send reports. Taking potshots is fine...we all do it between subforums, no big deal. And like I said previously, I gave it back and had zero problems with your boy. But then he went overboard, then the complaints and then more complaints from good people and THEN the ban hammer came. Personally I never had anything against him...I told him that in OT..he was annoying, but tolerable. And then he cowardly calls me a coward and that was it for me. I'm not going back there publicly..we can discuss via PM. Anyway, I shouldn't have said differences, but you know what I meant. Since i'm weather sided i have no clue what takes place outside of the weather forums. As you said i know full well about someone posting personal info and cheetah should have known that also. All I've seen is innocuous golf banter. If you can prove to me that he released someone else's personal info I'll condemn him here and now. That would be totally uncool. Just as sleazy as when one of your mods posted a long laundry list of Cheetah's personal info. Hey, is that person still posting? Obviously not, you're fair and would never employ a double standard so I'm sure they've been banned. Oh, btw, it's vendetta, not vandetta, I know it's an honest mistake but I'd hate to see one of your posts end up in the LOLZ thread. You know, the thread where you guys make fun of spelling mistakes made by AMwx members. I know it's all in good fun but some people take light hearted ribbing the wrong way.
