Lights are on at Wachusett... I wonder if they will test their system tonight...lol

Nice! Fire up the guns.

Just continuous light snow and flurries up here this afternoon/evening. Since its mostly low level orographic stuff the snow growth is awful (below freezing column but not good snow growth temps in the lowest 5,000ft) but I was just out walking the dog and the car is taking on a light dusting now. Maybe we can get lucky and whiten the ground if it keeps up tonight.

In another month this is another nice light fluffy snowfall... echos just bubbling up from the terrain.

I know how much some of the SNE crew loves upslope so here's a radar grab ;):arrowhead:

Tough times for the ski areas. Few mangled flakes here now.

Temps have risen...low was 34.8 and are now 36 again. Goes to show how important the precip was.

They don't even glance at the panic button until they get past Thanksgiving. If the long range has poor snow making weather past the first week of December or so the mood in PR and marketing starts to get a little anxious.

36/23 here. Should be a crisp dog walk in the morning...

Yeah if we don't see a change entering the second week of December people get nervous. Upper level management really isn't worried right now, we actually lose money the first couple weeks of the season.

Beautiful out there right now though... just stepped out and the air is filled with flakes. Much better dendrites now, the upslope stuff we are more used to. This is the type of snow that even when its dark outside you can still make out individual snow flakes fluttering up against the window. Getting breezy, too.

Best NFL season keeps rolling on ...

Woke up to find a coating of snow this morning, ftw. Meanwhile, vacation begins today (if I can stay away from my e-mail!). Chimney work to continue, lots of wood to cut, office to clean (ftbtl). Plus, at least something of interest to follow for the next few days. Good stuff.

Wachusett making snow at the moment

Life is good

Snowmaking is probably running full tilt at all the ski resorts in New England today... at least it should be.

We've got a 90 gun salute in progress right now... just absolutely plastering two routes with a snow gun every 50ft on both sides of the trails. Looks very impressive from down in town with the plumes rising off the ridgeline. HKDs, Fan Guns, Towers... they're all going at capacity right now. Gotta take care of what mother nature won't; light upslope won't cut it right now.

It's weird how fixated you are on my hair. Very breezy and cold up here @2k. Things are going to get exciting around here before long.

This sucks having no heat, the pilot light on our furnace has not been working since Sunday. The landlord's son tried to fix it but no success so we called them again yesterday and they are sending someone over today. It really hasn't been that bad in here with no heat but this morning is brutal. Oh well...5 days of not heat will make our wallets a bit heavier.
