EAST CENTRAL HAMPDEN COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...

SOUTHEASTERN HAMPSHIRE COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS...

* UNTIL 445 PM EDT

* AT 359 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR GRANBY...OR

6 MILES SOUTH OF AMHERST...MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.

* THIS STORM HAS A HISTORY OF PRODUCING GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL.

* SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE...BELCHERTOWN...WARE...

HARDWICK...WARREN...WEST BROOKFIELD...NEW BRAINTREE...BROOKFIELD...

NORTH BROOKFIELD...OAKHAM AND EAST BROOKFIELD.

All done here, but not without 3 distinct hail cores moving overhead. First produced penny sized hail around 3:10 PM, second produced pea sized around 3:40 PM, and the third produced quarter sized hail around 3:52 PM. It was loud! Had lots of close cloud to ground lightning with each cell. Strong low-level wind shear also evident as cells moved overhead as scud was coming in from the south, but cell motion was coming from the west. Very little wind at my location, just a lot of heavy rain, lightning and hail. Exciting afternoon to say the least.
