Objectively, the Bills are the best team in the AFC, and Josh Allen is better than Lamar Jackson. He may be better than Mahomes.

Georgetown and about one hour later than when Josh declared landfall 20 miles to the SW makes much more sense and is consistent with the Georgetown obs I was seeing and posting
-
Winds are now strong from the NW at Georgetown with SLP falling even more rapidly. It doesn't jibe with what Josh and Dr Knabb said about landfall already occurring.

Josh just said he found the center inland near Awendaw on Twitter. 985mb currently

LOL figured Josh would be there. Am thinking that was the same boat that was on dry bed with some sailboats earlier today before the surge came and now it is hung up in some electric wires.
-
That is where Hurricane Josh is at. We should get some good info from him on Ian.

Not quite unless your doing a very base level comparison. Now dig a bit deeper: Buying up real estate of directly impacted victims for individual gain VS storm chasing and gathering and collecting data to improve the understanding of tropical cyclones. so, not quite. My assumption is that Josh does not need people to suffer in order to do what he does, that's just an unfortunate reality of intense tropical storms striking populated regions. Meh

Josh could’ve been in Vietnam instead he is going to hannityland for a dying offshore underachiever.

Josh has been getting is pretty good in Sydney past couple of hours, obs showing gusts 80-90 mph

Josh just tweeted: 11:30 pm. Odd storm. Radar says the heavy rain has passed. I don't think even gusts reached gale force in Sydney. Rain has now slackened to drizzle. Perhaps we'll get strong winds on dry side of storm, as can happen with these (apparently) post-tropical cyclones. #FIONA

FYI - Josh posted that he’s going to ride it out in Sydney, so on the island with you, but on the east side. -
Is anyone besides Josh chasing this one? Hoping for some good streams

Yeah, it's a gamble being on the island. Driving over it yesterday I think it'll be ok as long as it doesn't get crushed by waves. I'm guessing Josh is down by Canso? -

Any worries about the causeway shutting down? I see that Josh is hanging back on the "mainland". -
This may be the benchmark storm for many coastal areas across a wide stretch of the region. This is not hyperbole either, this thing is a beast and has unanimous support to be an incredible cyclone at landfall. Glad Josh chose to chase this one, I think this will be a historic event

Josh is gay. He lives in MS where he can chase canes better than where he used to live.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the work they do posting information about all the storms on this forum, as it makes it much easier to monitor what is going on when all the info is in one place. I also appreciate all the storm chasers who show us videos of what we can expect, which is both educational and motivating, it helps one to gauge what they can handle and to get things done in a hurry when preparing for a storm. I would also like to thank the chasers like Josh who help collect important information about these storms. So often the chasers are demeaned but I have learned a lot from the chase posts and videos. To anyone else who may be affected by this storm I wish you the best. Going to go freak out now and start trimming branches, and tying things down.

I wonder where Josh is going to set up. I'm guessing probably not too far from me, but further south. Recon has found Fiona's pressure has fallen to 932mb.
-
Josh is chasing in Canada for the first time I think. This is going to be bad even by NS standards.
-
I guess another question I'd bring up is what are your thoughts then on our beloved Josh Morgerman? He's built a career on destructive/deadly weather events...however, he is furthering the field with his data/experience. He literally tries to place himself in the direct path of some of the most dangerous storms on Earth.

Japan just only recently started to let their borders open again and there's still some restrictions currently. Things like bands are allowed since it's not considered tourism. But if you're a tourist which Josh would be considered by them that's probably why he still wasn't allowed in. Shouldn't be much longer though before they let everyone back in and then he should be able to do it there again

2022 Atlantic hurricane season whining/banter
cptcatz replied to GaWx's topic in Tropical Headquarters
I don't mean to downplay the catastrophic flooding that is occuring in Puerto Rico but from an armchair meteorologist perspective, flooding isn't that interesting to me. Hurricanes interest me because of the wind. I eagerly await Josh's videos, but honestly an 85 mph cat 1 strike isn't the most interesting. -
Per Twitter, sounds like Josh nailed this one.

Lol oops. What a meltdown. Not surprised though, Josh McDaniels is terrible.
