Really nice period coming up, very comfortable.
Mid August through Oct 1st has some of the nicest weather of the year. September's an awesome beach month if you have the time.
Lately inactive hurricane seasons were big snow producers for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic (2009, 2013, 2014) and big hurricane seasons like 2011/2012/2018 were the opposite.
Is there any correlation or just random coincidences.
Warm Septembers are awesome, it might be my favorite beach month because all the tourists are gone, kids back in school, etc.
And warm in September normally doesn't mean torrid summer heat plus a much weaker sun angle.
The good news is that the ice hasn't been able to beat the last record low from 7 years ago.
Which could mean an ice free summer Arctic probably won't happen until the end of the 21st century.
It'll be hard to top the 99-100F/110-120HI readings though. Sun angle really dives beyond 1st week of August too.
But never say never.
I think if we can dry out soils then it's more likely we see upper 90s when the next big heat surge comes August 10th onward.
I stopped giving a rats ass about those people, they're as repugnant as anti-vaxxers or flat-earthers though having said trolls lead gov't is quite terrifying.
Still even the most scientifically scholared gov'ts don't mind turning their back on what they know to be true.
So at this point it's a big waiting game. Will we innovate ourselves out of GW or will GW shut us down permanently.
I'm not so sure everything will be warm. With the cold pool gone there's a good chance we see a lot more NAO blocking to come, which will have an effect on our weather past summer.
Looks like a pretty positive PDO as well. I also don't think August will be as warm as people think.
Wow no wonder the Arctic ice is getting decimated this season.
I wonder how this will factor in during hurricane season. The 2012 record low season coincided with Hurricane Sandy, but unsure if that's related.
Well so much for a dry summer as some have forecast.
My area dodged the worst of it but hearing reports of widespread flooding in northern Middlesex county.
The lightning has been incredible though and it was cool to see the storms roll through.
