Currently at Officially 20" here near Jonesville, Va in Lee County. We've had the most snow this year than we've had since 2015.

Just 2.7"storm total here. Downsloping off Se KY. was culprit for rather low total.

Excellent post and points John ! The slight trajectory difference has really affected here. Only a dusting since the half inch this morning! Downsloping from Mountains along KY border apparently. Temp down to 27.6. . Odd, regardless in that Kingsport and back to Morristown is cashing in more. No real upslope area there. Maybe the residual moisture along with warmer ground over there allowing development.??. Anyway, glad for you guys. You deserve it, even if my home fails with this one.

A half inch here now. Had a light dusting at 5:30 this morning as very fine light snow was falling. Continued that way untill a moderate band moved thru a little while ago with dime and nickles.

Remember the Feb. 98 one well. We were supposed to of got that one. Only got lt accs. The ULL pulled everything further west. -
Wound up with another half inch. At least what was able to measure. Probably was more but, wasn't up to see or measure it. Total, 1.1 inches.

Here's another. Had to screenshot these so, look over that flaw. Have these photos somewhere on a drive but, would have to find. Btw, this particular snowfall that fell on the 21st was about 15" . 19" was recorded just north of town at the base of stone Mountain. There was 22" on ground at photo location at time captured. It was waist deep in northern sections of the county . -

Picked up a half inch in 40 minutes. Just a few small flakes now. Here's a couple shots just after heavy batch ended.

Couldn't be ! Models said no. Kmrx says no way ! Lol. Evaporative cooling ftw !

My thoughts exactly. A bust like this last system has a tendency to cause that especially with ones that are typically conservative anyway. Models all have my area getting a couple inches tonight. 12z NAMS nuts with its 5 to 6" depiction. Not buyingbit but will say I've witnessed a fall of 5" with a similar setup. Dec., 5, 2003. Also 4" from a very similar h5 setup in the late 80s.

Of note on Carvers above post. Overrunning events have produced some of the Valley's biggest Snows. If I'm not mistaken Knoxville was a recipient and testament to that with their greatest Snowfall on Record. 22.5" , Dec. 3-5th, 1882, I believe.. correct me I'm wrong on that. A long time ago but, there's been some not so long ago. As for my local, Feb. 14, 1986 is my fav...13.5". 6" fell in an hour and 10 minutes ! -

Euro may be falling to its hanging back energy bias, as that would definitely help pull that trough westward. May be looking at a Center of Country based one for a bit b4 coming East if MJO propagates from say , 7 to 8. Either way, with blocking Central based can produce .
